From Athens - Game Day Friday #2

Good Morning All,

I am not by nature a pessimist more like a grounded optimist.

This is not a rant but more of a statement of frustration.

It is not the fact we lost to BSU but it is how as many here have stated.

I did buy gallons of the CJT Kool-Aid and drank it day after day this summer.

It was I who stoked the Father Joe image. We again had no gas to finish the game. Whipped seven ways to Sunday!

All that backwater talk from players and coaches this summer that we would be ready to play BSU was Disney speak.

The sorry fact was we looked for the most part the same team that slept during the Liberty Bowl last year. Clueless!

After investing in great amounts of optimism that change had come to reside in Athens this summer we find that it was just another rerun of “Groundhog Day” that we have been watching. Same damn movie we have been forced to watch for the last 5 years.

Do you sense just a tad of disappointment on my part? Shame on me for buying a $25 Rolex.

I am past my tipping point CMR and his staff has put the car in the ditch for the last time for me. Even if we go 11-1 the rest of the year I would feel it was dumb luck rather than good coaching.

Those skills were lost or given up several years ago. Leadership took a turn for the worst,CMR as CEO left WM & MB in place when they were not performing.

In hindsight I am just thinking that how in the Sam hell with KM and MS and no SEC championships? Not even to get to the title game. If you were looking for a sign this should have been a billboard on Hwy 316.

It was a five-alarm fire that I missed. So much for my football knowledge.
Clearly we had the talent to play with Florida but not the coaching on both sides of the ball.

We were good when we should and could have been outstanding.

Sadly we still are wasting talent.

It is of no comfort to me that ND a once proud and an annual football powerhouse has fallen to a similar fate as our Dawgs. While misery does love company I would sooner pass.

If I wanted this kind of pain I would become a Cubs fan.

By chance I am wrong and CMR and staff clone into” Winners” leading us to the SEC title game while beating UF & GT this year, I will retract these words and apologize gladly and loudly in front of the Arch.

Can we beat USC ?

There was a time we did not even ask that question.

Make no mistake I will be watching and cheering that by some means we can upset the Chickens from Columbia.

Blessed to be a Dawg for life… Better times will return.

Pause and give thanks.

I feel the same way about the Boise St. game. It's not so much we lost. It's how they lost. Granted they were a no. 5 team. The Dawgs beat themselves and everyone here knows why that happened. Simply, coaching.

As usual, I'll be front and center in Sanford Stadium on Saturday cheering as hard as I can and I've paid into the program. That's all I can do to help. But my expectations, based on the performance I've witnessed, we will lose this game. Never in my life would I've predicted that against the Chickens.

Once again we go between the hedges into another battle. Let's just hope they will be a different (improved) team than we saw last Saturday.

No red and black apparel for me until we win. I'm silent until we win again. There's just nothing to say until then. Some will view this as "not really a Dawg" type of stuff, but I just can't stand this. My team is a bunch of losers. I support them, but I can't take this. Many will cut me down for it, but when I get humiliated I respond with silence. Sorry.

Thriller, I completely understand your sentiment and can't say I blame you for laying low.

However, I had to man up last night "under the cover of darkness" and fly my new G flag down here in Gator country. I had planned on replacing the stars and bars the day after labor day but just couldn't do it till last night. Come on Dawgs, big win tomorrow! GATAA
