Sometimes media and bloggers (including me) make too much out of having a coach stay for their entire careers. Granted that is a good thought and admirable, but not realistic.
Many coaches that have been ultra successful have shared their talents with many different schools. Saban for one. Spurrier (ouch), Meyer (ouch) and the list goes on an on.
Ususally or sometimes it is about money. We should not be going through that problem at UGA. Money from top to bottom is better than good.
Many times a coach that is under fire will leave, start anew and not look like the same coach that was released or chose to move on.
I am sure that a lot of the folks that participate on this board have changed jobs and moved on to greener pastures or let's face it, were fired.
Have to say this . . . . first time I can remember Richt singling out an individual or portion of the team and finger pointing. Offensive line. Watched a clip this morning with Grantham speaking, he also took a back handed slap in my opinion at TK. He was discussing South Carolina receivers and he said . . . . they have one receiver that is very good and . . . . catches the ball. Don't really like to single folks out, but after reading TK's response to the Boise State game, Grantham's remarks were deserved. Too much arrogance there for me.
One more note on UCF and UGA. George O'Leary was a pain in UGA's butt when he coached at that "other school". What he did and is doing at UCF is along the lines of Boise State. He is not getting the 4 and 5 start athletes, he is however coaching the you know what out of them. UCF knew that UGA was soft, player and coaching wise. My daugher is a graduate of UCF, so I keep an eye on them. Just for the record, think it was mentioned that USF is a team to watch, ask Notre Dame.
yankeedawg1, hope that Georgia has something to get excited about and gets just rewards from "Pops".
