I knew it was only a matter of time before the SOS issue was brought up. Look, I concede that yours is tougher. I posted earlier that the SEC is the toughest conf.
What bugs me is this idea that BSU, or any other mid-major that runs the table, doesn't deserve a shot at a major bowl or maybe even the nat champ. It's not like there are a bunch of teams doing it. If the SOS is so weak in the lesser conferences, why don't we see any other team steamrolling the way BSU does? Could it be that BSU is just a really good team, and right up there with the top 5?
I make the comparison to 1999, when the St Louis Rams were steamrolling the weakest division in the NFL ( 49ers 42-20, 23-7, Saints 43-12, 30-14, Falcons 35-7, 41-13) They wearn't just winning, they were winning big. But 6 of their wins were against the NFC West, which was pathetic. If there had been no playoff system, they might well have been denied a chance to play for all the marbles because folks from the NFC East,or the AFC North would argue their SOS was too weak.
BSU may be the '99 Rams.
