UGA regrets scheduling BSU, thought Moore was gone

Leghumber, good analogy. LimeyDawg, I agree, but I won't call it "sneaking" a win in. I think we'll pound them. They are coming into a dog fight (pardon the pun) fighting a wounded animal. I think UGAs pride is hurting REAL BAD and we are in need of a cleansing. I think we get it against Boise State. Richt isn't the only one looking for redemption. You're going to see a bunch of big, fast, hungry ball players on our side of the line, out to prove that THEY haven't lost it - that THEY are athletes. This isn't just Richt's chance to salvage something . . . about 75 other guys have something to prove too.

South Carolina may be a different story . . .

Hmmm. I think Boise is in a tough situation, and they may suffer the same way we did when we started out ranked number one. They HAVE to step up, HAVE to play well. I'm still not convinced that they play a consistently high calibre talent to deserve their ranking, but that's a whole different thread. This is going to be a tough game, but I think they underestimate us and we sneak a win in. I can't put my finger on the why of this, but we've got some guys stepping up, and we're deeper at skill positions than we get credit for. Something feels different about this season...

For all my realism. I cannot help myself. I too feel this could be a great year. Historically, this is nothing new. I drink the same koolaid every August.

thriller, not to dump ice water on good feelings. We have had good to superior athletes in Athens since Richt has been there. Foot soldiers are taught to follow their leader or leaders and that has been the problem with UGA football in my opinion. Richt is the person that should be on his hands and knees looking for redemption.

Say this for Richt. He did not pack his bags and run like Urban Meyer did in Florida. Both coaches had lost control of their respective programs. Richt is showing moxy, Meyer is a loser and hope that Ohio State makes another huge mistake and hires him.

My opinion. 75 Dawgs and a serious head coach can change things.

Coach'em Up!! :)

Buc, you know you can dump ice water on us anytime you want! ;)

However, I'm just calling it like I see it. I'm not impressed with a SINGLE Boise State win from last year, not even the VT game. VT came out of the gate slow and almost won anyway. They just blew it.

I know what Boise State's rep is, and I know their coaching staff is top flight, but I believe that a combination of raw athleticism and a new-found spark in the Dawgs will propel us in this one. I'm not looking for the game to be close.

Believe this or not - most probably won't - I'm known among my friends as a HORRIBLE PESSIMIST! I NEVER predict good things will happen. However, I need to see a win from Boise that impresses me from recent times before I drink the Blue Kool-aid.

thriller, watched the Boise State, Nevada game last year. It was tit for tat. Nevada played the same game that Boise State did. Neither team showed dominance.

What I am trying to say is . . . . looking over the schedules, the players and the coaches, the one thing that sticks out to me is the coaching. That statement is not to draw fire and ire to this board, that is as you say, how I see it.

Our talent level has been good for years, and if that is so, damn, got to blame someone . . . right.

If the talking heads and media hypes are right in their grading of high school talent moving on to college, these two teams should not be allowed to play each other. Total mis-match on paper.

Buc, I'm having a good laugh at myself.

Every year around this same time, I drink myself a TALL, COOL GLASS of RED Koolaid. I'm believing in the entire UGA system (as always) until they prove me wrong. I believe Richt has done it before and I (want to) believe he will do it again. He had a couple of years of slack, now his back is against the wall, and I believe anyone worth their salt will respond in that situation.

Even if I'm overly optimistic, I still look at Boise State and UGA and I see us winning based on not being impressed with their wins last year and KNOWING that we at least have had TOP caliber teams in the past. I think we will again this year.

Wow, that Koolaid tastes good. Until week 2 anyway . . . :silly:

Just editing this post to add WHY I'm picking us like this. It's NOT based on what a great coach Richt is, though I think he's better than many would credit. Instead, it's based on my opinion of how tough I think Boise State is. Here is my ranking of our opponents based on strengths that I believe:

1. South Carolina
2. Mississippi State
3. Florida
4. Auburn
5. Tennessee
6. Boise State
7. Kentucky
8. Ole Miss
9. Georgia Tech
10. Vandy
11. Coastal Carolina
12. New Mexico State

I hope I'm right.
