Hey Buc, I agree with everything in your last post. BB does make excuses for them. All I know and I cant believe they dont know, Is if you cant RUN the ball in the SEC then you WILL NOT WIN THE SEC!!! its that simple oh and ofcourse you must have a strong D.

OldSouthDawg, my understanding is that Bobo and Buck are buddies. Would never know that from some of his scribblings. . . .if anyone believes that, I still have that land for sell in Florida.

Buck plain and simply is trying to shift the media and fan attention away from his buddy. One would think that Buck would look at the whole picture and want his school to prepare better through KNOWLEDGE. At this point, I don't see a lot of expertise coming from Richt, Bobo and the "Lucky Charm" Belue. As ogredawg said, the I, me, my kid (Belue) should kiss Herschel Walker's backside every time he looks at that National Championship Ring.

The point that I am trying to make here is simply this . . . We cannot afford to continue to have top flight athletes coming to Athens and allowing so much of the stuff that has gone on for years, under the current administration. Sound a bit like the stuff that is going on in Washington. Looks like it, even smells like it.

An example of getting ones ducks in a row. Saban takes the Alabama job, loses a very tight game to Georgia in Tuscaloosa. Saban and Richt shake hands and after that game, Alabama grew up leaps and bounds. We all know what happened the night of the "Blackout". Saban does not play silly games. Games are won on the field, that same field that Richt said you and I know nothing about. Wonder why many of the top athletes from Georgia are going to Tuscaloosa . . . . . my thinking is coaching, no other reason seems to settle in this brain. Saban built that program through the defense, then the offense followed.

The powers in Athens need to leave Grantham alone, he has a plan. Has stated what it is he wants to do. It appears to me that I see some of the Saban teachings coming out in Grantham. If that is the case, Richt and other sure as heck need to leave Grantham alone. I believe that he is the right guy to get us back on the right path.

Buck Belue needs to go back to Football 101, quit trying to deflect proven criticism against his buddy Bobo. Build this team the way it should be built, not with the same old BS that has come down the tracks for too many years.

One more thingy . . . Spurrier is doing the same thing in South Carolina that he did in Florida and Saban did in Alabama. Remember, SS beat us, beat UF in Gainesville and played in the SEC Championship game. We were 6-7, and UCF kicked our ass. Also, Auburn won the MNC. Makes this old dawg wonder.

Well, I hoped he would stay on D, but it's official he's going to tailback. UGA's release--

Georgia junior linebacker Richard Samuel of Cartersville will return to the tailback position, according to an announcement Thursday by UGA head coach Mark Richt. Samuel, who played tailback as a freshman and sophomore, had been moved to linebacker a year ago but injuries led to a redshirt season in 2010.

“After discussions with Richard, his family, and our coaches I’m excited that Richard wants to make the move,” Richt said. “He’s one of our fastest and most powerful players, is very mature, has a strong character and is a man we can count on. I’m proud of him for always putting the team first and I look forward to seeing what he can do.”

Said Samuel: “I’m excited about the opportunity at tailback. I’m ready to do anything that will help the team win.”

In his two seasons at tailback (2008-09), Samuel played in 22 games including six starts (all in 2009). He carried 114 times for 528 yards and three touchdowns.

RS being the team player shows a good attitude........now let this young man play and contribute as a reward for his sacrifices

I feel sorry for Samuel. because of our coaching staff's inability to bring in good character guys, and its inability to build up the players correctly, RS has wasted his talents. The kid should have been a LBer from day 1. let him stay there, and by now he would be ALL SEC.

The same with the OL. By bringing in pansies and YES, injury prone recruits (how many of our guys came in having missed their senior year with injury? More than a couple), we will probably have to bring Gaithers back to OT at some point.

Great.

Don't hit me:), but I almost hope we start 0-2 with 2 blow outs so we can go ahead and make the change needed.

OK, did I really just say that???????????

I understand your point but you have to feel for someone like Sturdivant, worked as hard as anybody.

I feel bad for all the guys injured, but it still goes back to the coaching staff. When a guy weighs 300+, and his legs make him look like he's riding a chicken, knee problems are inevitable.

The SMART era CONTINUES!!!!!!

ogredawg, appears that Samuel is about the same size as Lattimore. I have resigned myself to the fact that the change has been made. Hell, feed him the rock. Even JTII could not get this young man to fold. Lots to be said for that. :)
