In the past I feel like we have been throwing the ball to open the run, when it should be just the opposite we MUST run the ball on 1st downs and run to Open the pass, especially this yr, we do not have our 2 best wrs. If we come out throwing like we still have Aj and KD we are gonna be in a world of hurt in these first 2 games. I hope and pray they will focus on running on 1st downs and Ball control and punishing the other teams def. If we do not I fear we will be 0-2. AM has the wheels to get himself out of trouble and most successful teams have QBs run the ball so we MUST do this. not worry so much about protecting him but running and letting him run for it. the passing game isnt gonna be there like last yr. IMO

OSD...totally agree with these last two posts about running the ball. It is a must but they will need to mix it up a little on 1st downs or the D will load the box. Overall though, I agree we must pound Boise St and be extremely fast and physical.

I feel we need to definitely mix things up against USC because they are fast and physical as well. Can't be too predictable but agree.....we must be able to run the ball all year and play good D.

What I see in Boise State that seems to be missing with our team is the team concept.

Supposedly BS players don't rank as high on the star scale as UGA players do. So, that leaves me with the question . . . . why? Las Vegas seems to think that BS is a little better than we are . . . . why? If we put our faith in the Ratings/Rankings that many grovel over each year, BS is ranked much higher than we are . . . . why? Some of the why questions I believe have been answered. Grantham, McGarity. That still leaves me with a question or two that I don't believe has been answered. Will probably get that answer this season.

Go Dawgs, Better Coach Them Up . . . .

I agree with a mix of everybody.

I ALWAYS go into the season expecting to win every freakin game....realistic, no but like kd said, I'm just wired that way.

On the other hand I have a little duck in my thinking as well. That's why I am in the "show me" camp right now and made the comments about not getting too carried away just yet on Grantham. As much as I love McGarity and his "no nonsense" approach, STILL he's got a huge task ahead of him and even he's needs to "show us" as well.

And to take it a step further......Grantham for HC??.....really?.....I love the man and believe he is going to be the real deal but.....really??.....I say let's give him a few more years, huh?

Bottom line for me.....

1. Love my Dawgs and ALWAYS think we can win
2. Grantham, HC?.....McGarity, star AD?....let's not get too carried away just yet but am optomistic
3. CMR and Bobo......better prove yourself or leave
4. Bad year?.....go get a PROVEN HC and OC

Good post wlayton. Lots to think about.

Chizik did ok I guess. Look what he was/is surrounded with.

Richt came out of the gate pretty fast.

Grantham I suppose would fit into the "newcomer bracket". College head coaching.

McGarity, had a huge amount of on the job training under Foley. Successful by most folks standards.

It is that time of the year when football is pretty much at a standstill. (Except for those poor souls showing up to greet JTII in his place of business). Cleaning those garbage cans out after every workout. :woohoo: :woohoo:

Buc.....Chizik's situation reminds me of UM. Did Tebow make UM successful or did UM make Tebow successful.....did Cam Newton make Chizik successful or did Chizik make CN successful??...mmmmmmmm.......I kinda think the players made the coaches.

Grantham does fit the newcomer bracket.....but let's give a few years before we say HC ability......really early imo.

The stats say Foley was successful......I say he was a little lucky (in the football arena at least). UM wasn't even his 1st choice.....or 2nd, was he? Regardless, McGarity did have a ton of years "learning on the job"......hopefully he can implement the good decisions he witnessed and disregard the bad. Do believe he will be very successful though......but "show me".....PLEASE. :woohoo: :woohoo:

I am not saying that fans should not believe, heck I want to win every game, the east, SEC and play of the NC. I just can not get back on the I believe band wagon after the past 3 years of our decline. There is something wrong at UGA, and I know there are other that have to see this other than me. The players have no desire to win, we are scared, we don't hit or tackle. I hope the new coaches make a difference, there has been a lot of TALK about how everyone has changed. The head man in charge CMR has done nothing so far to prove anything to me that this team will be any different than last year.

I am sorry and not tring to rain on anyone parade or bring down hope, I am just in the show me mood, I hope they kick a-- and prove me wrong and stop with all the big talk, play the game for 4 quarters and win the game.
