Grantham/JTII Old School

In the past I feel like we have been throwing the ball to open the run, when it should be just the opposite we MUST run the ball on 1st downs and run to Open the pass, especially this yr, we do not have our 2 best wrs. If we come out throwing like we still have Aj and KD we are gonna be in a world of hurt in these first 2 games. I hope and pray they will focus on running on 1st downs and Ball control and punishing the other teams def. If we do not I fear we will be 0-2. AM has the wheels to get himself out of trouble and most successful teams have QBs run the ball so we MUST do this. not worry so much about protecting him but running and letting him run for it. the passing game isnt gonna be there like last yr. IMO

Wow. Alot of great insight in this post.

1. CTG as head coach one day. Yes. Why? I hate to say it, but deep down, here in the south and SEC, I think CTG's look and personality feel more comfortable to me as a fan. Old school. Blue collar. Just a little piss and vinegar (not the apple cider kind either, the white distilled kind.:)). I agree with the post: give me a good defensive mind as head coach, and get me a maverick OC.

2. Orson Charles should have 60 touches this year.........................meaning he'll get about 30. Bobo doesn't have a clue.

3. If we can keep the NT Taylor commit, get mayes back in a year or two from JUCO, and add Nkemdichie next year, we are looking good on defense.

4. I made this point a while back, my other problem is with the OL. Hell, give me 8 3 star WR's and an Alabama type OL, over our OL and 5 star WR's anyday. I don't know if it is the talent is evaluated correctly, or if they are coached correctly, or if we don't space out the recruiting correctly, but dammt, it seems we have been thin, and losing 3 of 5 starters for 4 years now. CAN WE NOT HAVE 15 DUDES ON CAMPUS finally who aren't hurt?????

I don't mind a three star, if he is coached up and "mean". But if you aren't going to coach them up, then for goodnes sakes, get some 5 star beast who are so damn good you CAN'T screw up there development.

BulldogShannon, remember well the thread that you mentioned. One of the folks on this board that I have a lot of respect for is OSD. What he wants to do requires an offensive line that can move folks. I purposely have not gone back to him in this thread because I am not sure we can and (WILL) run the football. Hope Friend is a + for the offensive side. He is in the same bucket that Grantham was in last season, not his players. No offensive line, no championships. Pretty damn simple. Might be the hottest back in the country, in the SEC if there ain't a hole . . . . ask AM how things work without an offensive line . . . Forgot, Bobo and Richt don't want AM to take off with the football. Stay in the damn pocket and wait for what happened in Abuurn.

Bobo is and has been a guessing game for me. sadlerdawg was first. Here it is from my stance. Bobo is not, never has been, will never be a Offensive Coordinator. By title, yes . . . . there again we have had folks with titles that are no longer on the UGA Campus. Couple more releases and we have a chance.

Go Dawgs . . . . Coach Them Up! No room for excuses. Excuses, a thing of the past. . . . I hope.

Hey Buc, I agree with you on the O line. But I still feel like if we put AM back there to throw on first with CK were not gonna win either of these games. We must gamble on the rookie backs and hope being early in the season our O line is healthy enough to get passed BS. IMO if IC is what they say he is then a good back can make somthing of nothing, CK already had his chance and we know what he is. all the Dominant teams Run with D. then the pass comes. I KNOW if we go aginst SC with CK as our guy and with a throwing first game plan we are screwed!!! they will run lattimore 30 times and jeffery will then be open once our guys are tired from our OFF going 3 and out from passing on first downs. jus sayn even with our O line I feel like it our only real chance to go with the rookies and hope that JTs strength and conditioning program has helped them enough to open some holes. Jus IMO you know I have total respect for all your info as well. We jus have to change it up this season. we must try to control the ball and slow it down. Just afraid our D even if they are much improved is gonna get hung out to dry way to much. and be on the field way to long.

OSD, not much I can say about your post other than you are right.

Allow me this . . . . . Dooley did not know how to throw the ball.

Bobo does not know how to run the ball. Will not say much about his third down calls. What the hell was Richt thinking, guess it was along the lines of Belue. Richt, believe me when I say this . . . . will lose his job because of another mistake he made appointing Bobo as OC. Once upon a time I thought Richt was ready for this job . . . . . I was wrong. Richt is not a head coach, not a leader, he is good man that is in the wrong position.

Leaving Richt for kentdaddy and sadlerdawg, they have known for a while, and said so on this board.

Folks recruiting for us apparently do not understand that the game is won in the pits. Until now. Grantham knows, I hope that Friend knows. Saban knows. . . . . Abuurn is catching on.

Some lead, some follow. . . . . that is why we see twenty or so monitoring this site and participating and two hundred or so looking for something other than . . . . FIRST. . . . .

I hope that we win every game we play. I also hope that we (UGA SUPPORTERS) figure out that the CHEMISTRY is still WRONG. Coaching Chemistry. Richt, wake up. Bobo will not take our team close to a championship. It is not the money any more, it is all about being the best we can be.

Some of us understand the GAME OF AMERICAN FOOTBALL. Never make that statement again that you made about those that have not been on the field. There are some on this board that have played to a much higher calling than you understand. I say that respectfully.

Florida in JAX, you have the players Richt, SHOWTIME.

Go Dawgs . . . Coach Them Up.

MUSCHAMP GUARANTEES WIN OVER GEORGIA.
