South Carolina gave us a real hard time last year running the ball between the tackles. Here is hoping that JJ occupies a center and a guard, appears to me that Jones and Samuel will be inside in a flash, and with what wlayton said . . . . OUCH!!!

ogredawg said in another thread that he had watched JJ play in Mississippi, what I drew from what he said was . . . . . . real deal. Believe it was ogredawg.

Another question I have is Washington. Coming out of high school I was real high on Cornelius, really liked his speed. Apparently he is up to about 250/260 and still big time fast. What is going on here? Maybe new linebacker coach will be the key to helping CW become all he can be at OLB. Sometimes it just takes that one coach to help a player improve from good to great. Crossed finger on CW, I know that the talent is there.

YD1, not talking out of my you know what when I say Ramik is special. He is. Humble young man until he puts the cleats on. . . . . gonna love this guy. He looks for contact. I would like to see him at strong safety, bring back some memories from the past. Also, has good hands, will intercept, make receivers in his area take "short steps". You know what I mean . . . :)

I think all our defensive guys will do well this year, but they have to close the gate, wrap up the runner, and then TAKE THEM TO THE GROUND. (Oh yes, and abstain from alcohol.)We sure didn't do that very well last year. It looked like we were trying to just knock guys down. Lattimore won't fall down just because you bump into him.

Buc, this may not be along the same lines of your question, but I'll VERY respectfully submit my special "player" for this year: Joe Tereshinski. There will probably be a lot of guys who say I'm stupid (okay, I am  ), but I really believe that if that big O-Line gets up to strength (and condition), we will win a lot more games than most currently think.

Buc,sure understand short steps and wanting to get down before the lights go out. It does not take much to get a receiver of route and then the advantage wwings to the denfense very quickly.

thriller, more and more I am moving along with many out here that bring JT into conversations. Haven't heard a word about WE since the "incident". Maybe that is just as well.

Have to believe that WE has accepted the "advice" ;) of JT, or we would have heard something. I hope that whatever got caught in JT's craw does not happen again. For sure all on the football team, including coaches know the full story.

WE has talent, more than the average running back, now he has others that want his spot, would love to see the young fellow grow up over the Spring and become a blessing to UGA. When I say UGA, I am of course talking about all of us. We are UGA. Don't messssy uppppy any more WE, get with it and you could and can be a part of something very special.

Guess that I am one of the homers in the off season. Know that I am. There is so much talent in Athens, that fact cannot be disputed. There is also talent in South Carolina, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, maybe Tennessee. Still comes down to coaching the young men up. I feel that the defensive side of the ball has the coaching talent, and the material that can be coached up. So . . . . what is the hold up? Most of you know me well enough to know what the next question should be . . . . Maybe someone else has the answer to that.

thriller back to the JT thingy. Before the first game in ATL, some of these young players are going to add a lot of muscle. Hopefully before the kickoff against BS, we have had enough wind sprints to expand those lungs to allow a different UGA team to show up in the fourth quarter. I am assuming that teams still run wind sprints, forgive me, just recollecting days gone by. Hated those damn things. Paid off in the fourth quarter. JT was an excellent choice, he has been the hot item recently, and quite frankly, he is going to have a lot of pressure to produce.

Buc, back to your question on who we think may have a special year.

From the newcomers, I wouldn’t be surprised if Christian Conley has an impact. UGA needs help at receiver, and he is already on campus and will go through spring practice.

We really need Marlon Brown to step up too. Believe he can be a starter.
