Once A DAWG Always A DAWG

Well IMO, when you get paid for playing you are a PRO. Also I have a feeling Alabama will be more than ready to exchange shots with au on each others QBS. What goes around comes around, Football is a violent sport, what you give is what you get.

Having the FBI involved is bad juju. The FBI just does not play.

Agree Buc - the money is just too big any more - too tempting
If they are concerned about a players future - then the parents should take out an insurance policy
On espn they were saying that no money has to actually exchange hands - all they have to do is make an offer of money - that just the offer of money would make the player ineligible - have read several stories that say his dad admitted to an offer - so if he admits - what’s the holdup

Not sure, just a guess.
This is going to open up the legal system (legal ?) to some, not all, but some attorneys to have a field day. Direction this is headed, it will be like the TV commercials, after you call 911, call 411.
Maybe I am just a cynical old fart, the direction college football is heading causes me great concern. I have enjoyed the "game" for so many years, now the "privileged few" (money tree crowd) is ruining my Saturdays and bowl season.
The Newton saga will determine or influence the direction college football will take in the future. Bank on it. (No pun intended)
Truthfully, I think that the Newton mess has opened Pandora's Box. There will be others. This happened rather quickly after the Bush pay for play.
These families see the schools of higher education making money on their young men and women and are beginning to put their hands out for some of that income. How many jerseys sold with AJ's number? Let's face it, some of our schools are not above being investigated either. Remember basketball coach at UGA, I do. What a mess.
kentdaddy mentioned it. The FBI is not in this to play. Think that the hit on AM by Fairley was a big hit, FBI plays to win also. FBI is never the underdog.
RabunDog, you are so right again. The outside money has gotten too big.

A sad situation, reflective of society at large.
A small microcosm; The two Nicks, Nick Bell and Nick Fairley.
There are good kids like Alabama player Marcell Dareus who went out of his way to attend his best friend, Nick Bell's memorial.
I have heard nothing bad about the short life of Nick Bell.
I won't even comment on Fairley.
I am grateful Georgia Football is an above board program.
The SEC as a whole will be tainted for a long time by this tragedy.

averagedawg know you said you would not comment on Fairley. If you haven't seen this . . .does show that Slive is working hard to get the SEC into the "Big Game". Handle internally my bottom. Sounds like much of the crap that we hear coming out of Washington, D.C.
The SEC said Tuesday that it has decided not to suspend Auburn defensive tackle Nick Fairley for his controversial hits on Murray. The league plans to handle the matter “internally” with the school.
Notice the word "hits" , does mean more than one, right . . . .
