wlayton, I enjoy your post and usually agree with most of what you say but I have to disagree with this one. No disrespect intended and I realize everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I basically said yesterday where I stand on CMR......not sure either way....YET. The operative word is, YET. Believe he has made more mistakes in his HIRES than doubting his x's and o's as a HC. We all feel he has the right DC now and I want to see how we do once (if) we get a new dynamic OC like a Mark Whipple. Basically I won't come to much of a conclusion or say, FINAL conclusion until his second coaching mistake has been corrected and see where we go.

Face it....we can say he has no fire. He didn't become a great athlete himself, back in his days playing ball, without having fire in his gut. You don't have to rant and rave to have fire.
He was never a "great" athlete, that I know of. He was a good qb. I guess "great" has many interpretations.

We can say he can't motivate.......we don't REALLY know that, how many of us are in the locker room or practice or one on one meetings and actually witness CMR........NOBODY, we are just GUESSING.

The result is what we see. Team appears to lack motivation/fire/spark whatever you want to call it. So his motivation methods are not producing results.

We can say he doesn't prepare the team.....again, how the hell does ANYBODY on this forum really know? We all talk big and act like we know....but truth is we DON'T.

Again the results is what we see. He okays the signing of every recruit and hired every coach. Either the players aren't comprehending the game plans/schemes or the coaches aren't teaching very well. In either case it is a result of his decisions.

We can say he doesn't care anymore......any competitor past or present CARES, it's something that is in them all their lives, competitivenes is not a learned trait.

He may be a very competitive person, but again he portrays this awww shucks attitude, that obviously isn't lighting the proverbial competitive fire under the team's butts.

Bottom line......we all just speculate and really don't have a clue. I know I haven't been to Athens lately to witness ALL that goes on. We only see the duck on top of the water, we can't see him paddling like crazy.

You know what ducks do to their weak, they kill them. If he is paddling like crazy and still barely treading water(as this football team is) then what does that say?

I,maybe the only one, think AD5's posts were excellent. Do I think CMR is THE answer??? I really don't know.....but I'm willing to see his change at OC, to correct the second of his past mistakes before I make my decision.

While I agree that changing OC in the middle of the year would be futile. Changing play calling, personnel etc is not unreasonable to expect given the teams results this year. Instead he continues with the we'll stay the course blah blah, continues to throw 30 yards down field on 3rd and 1. He continues to platoon running backs even when one has the hot hand. He refuses to play true freshman (like KM) in skilled positions. No matter what is going on in his head or in the locker room the result we see on the field is that of a coach that appears to be inflexible, stubborn and loyal to a fault, a team that consistently comes out flat and ill-prepared and a team that lost 5 games last year and at least 5 this year.

So whatever it is WE DON'T HAVE A CLUE about is not working. PERIOD.

I say give him another year, IF changes are made. On and off the field. Heck, we are THUG U except we don't win.

One last thought and I'll shut up for a few, I don't think we need a Muschamp or Smart as our next HC, if we make a change it needs to be a to a proven HC. IMHO.

No defense needed I remember that very clearly. It was also stated that if and it was a huge IF that this could be a very special season. It has turned out to be a very special season that we would like to foget. However, it is what it is, somewhere a balance needs to be found on this blame game. We have had huge improvements not in the wins but getting better. Last year we had Int's and dumb flags, lack of effort. It looks bad when the "D" get beat on a big play but that happened last year also. Run "D" and kick coverages rank at or close to the top of SEC. But hey I am just a ole sunshine pumper living in the shadow of Sanford. Not ready to toss out the baby with the wash water just yet. As always Go Dawgs !!

Hey....there's 3 of us!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: (although I don't consider myself a sunshine pumper.....quiet the contrary, I'm usually just a realist that takes his time to analyze things).

At one time I thought Dooley was okay. My opinion has changed.
Dooley was a so so coach who happened to have Erk Russell.
If Dooley is the measuring stick, God help us.
After the Tennessee game, well, Dooley can stick it.
GO DAWGS!!!!!!
AND, I can complain all I want. I am an American and a Dawg.
It doesn't make me less vested in America or University of Georgia Football.
I don't like what's going on in Washington and I don't like where Georgia Football is going.

bulldawg36869.....same old stuff

1. athlete.....pretty dang good to land a scholarship to UM back in their heyday
2. "appears"......no concrete statement there to prove anything
3. "either/or".....ditto, subjective
4. "portrays".......ditto, subjective, again
5. "aw shucks attitude"......your opinion, again nothing to back it up.....btw, did T Dungy looks aw shucks too?
6. duck comment response.....irrelevent

AGAIN, the descriptive words you used above still shows me that it's all opinions, not concrete, subjective and basically nobody REALLY knows.

Wasted ink.

ok wlayton here is the facts you want and already know.
RESULTS
5 losses last year and 5 so far this year - add to that the off field problems that are well documented and factual.

So once again whatever "NOBODY REALLY KNOWS" is not working, FACT
