Who would make a good DC?

Absolutely agree with you GatorinGa but just for fun......if UF, Bama or UT etc had Cincinnati's or Houston's offenses and record's, they would still have their same rankings more than likely. Guess my point is that if a perennial football power like UF, UT or Bama has big offensive numbers and mediocre defensive numbers, they would still be in the top three regardless, as long as they are undefeated or one loss etc........MAJOR football schools......just sayin'

Not entirely true. This theory was tested in the 1999 NFC conference game. One team had the best offense to ever play in the NFL but almost no defense. The other team had the best defense to ever play in the NFL but no offense. The team with the offense won 10-3 because they were able to convert a single mistake into a touchdown while the other team was only able to convert into a field goal.

The real truth is that a defense can not win alone but an offense can. BUT if both teams have adequate offenses then the one with a better defense will usually win. That's cuz offense is easier than defense.

Monte Kiffin is definitely a great DC. He was years ahead of everyone else. However, there are plenty of guys out there to get the job done. Everyone speaks of Monte like he is a god. It is not like he has brought a sorry defense back to prominence. UT has always had a good D. People dread playing UT because they play good defense. The advantage that UT has over anyone else is MK's loyalty to his son. There have been some great DC's in the SEC over the last 10 years. They just all dream of being a HC. MK is good, but his schemes are not that much better than JC. The most significant change that UT has made is ATTITUDE!!!!!!! I will agree with everyone else we need a new DC. However, the thing that has disappointed me this year is our lack of ATTITUDE. I would almost be willing to say that if we had attitude then we could overcome CWM's faults.
