how are bowl & TV revenues split? A good coach might pay for himself.

Heck if UGA can put forward a program that has Mom Apple Pie and Jesus for a head coach but still fields a great team then that's worth uncountable amounts of money. We're talking about something that would help anybody with a UGA degree get a better job opportunity. We're talking about something that would swell students applications and bring prestige to the school as a whole. It's stuff like that that helps a school like UGA attract the people and money to do stuff with real meaning - like the atom smashers and research labs down at Ga Tech. I'd say get out the checkbook and pay whatever it takes. If it doesn't work out financially then let them go at end of contract. never know if you don't try.

Exactly. Pull out the big bucks. That is what Tennessee did to hire the coach/assistants that they now have. Tennessee had fallen under 100,000 folks at their games recently. Another reason in my opinion that Phil was released.

Man, money talks. If the hires turn the fortunes around, I call that a good investment. Alabama putting more than 90,000 folks in the seats a short time back and that was the Spring Game. We all know what Alabama looked like before the Saban hire. Needless to say, that changed drastically.

Tennessee took a good, long, hard look at what Alabama did and what did they do . . . . suffice to say that they chose to \"Copy Cat\".

One thing that I have found to be true (almost 100% of the time) you get what you pay for. Have heard it mentioned on this board that our AD might be a tad clench fisted. I cannot speak to that, do think I see a couple of programs heading in the direction of Florida. Top paid head coach, results speak for themselves.
