How would I rate the top coaches?

Gatorman, I think we all enjoy your opinions. To me, a real fan is passionate about his team, but not to the point of abandoning reality. I want my team to win, but I want them to win within the constraints of rules and sportsmanship. If the horrendous call against AJ in the LSU game had been against them and not us, would I have been as incensed? Well, maybe not as incensed, but still not in agreement with it at all. In fact, you recall, in that game that after Charles Scott ran the touchdown for LSU, giving them the margin of victory, the refs called the same celebration penalty on LSU. Scott didn't deserve that penalty either. I decried that as much as the AJ call. The same crew messed it up again in the Arkansas-UF game. Terrible; just wrong. But as much as I dislike UF, had it been called against them, I would have felt it was just as wrong. Right is right and is unaffected by one's personal biases.

One of my points was, that CMR has beaten. NS,an UM with a lesser staff so he is just as good as they are. And I do agree his flaw is he is to nice, But CMR will get this team together look at his record at being one of the fastest to 50 wins. GA has won every yr he has been here, look at the mess he had to turn around vs what UM came into. GOOOO DAWGS!!

Do you remember what UM went into? They tried to set Zooks house on fire, the team went 7-5 the year before. Losing to Tennessee, UGA, Miss St, LSU and Miami. 4 out of those 5 are considered rivals. UM stepped in and went 9-3 his first year, and a NC his second year. By the way BD3 Zook went 7-5 with that talent that UM won a NC with, UM is proven.

CMR does win games, but so does Jim Tressell, does anyone list him in thetop coaches. Not really, because he cant win the big game. Every year teams are faced with 1 maybe 2 games that set them up for a chance to get in the BCS. Every year now CMR hasnt won that big game. This year it was OK ST, and LSU, last year was Bama, '07 Tenn, '06 Tenn and fla. '05 was Florida again,'04 Tenn. You get the point, if UGA wins these games it gives them confidence to win in some of the other close games they may have lost that season. Hes going to need to win some of these key games that right now have alluded him.

My original point was, yes its CMRs fault WM is here, but if UM or NS had WM they couldnt do any better and thats what I was trying to get across, soon as WM leaves we will be back to beating yall.
And dont forget yall, CMR did bring BVG here before anyone knew who or what he was capable of. And zook had plenty of talent, he was just an idiot like WM. FLA always has talent, come on, any good high school coach could come in an win at fla. Fla has 5star talent on both sides of the ball lined up, You dont have to be the best coach to win there, just average. Look at spurior he couldnt be beat at Fla, now at SC he struggles, put UM at SC an noway he beats GA!! GOO DAWGSSS!!

GatorStrong you are just mad because I put MR ahead of UM. UGA is living proof that one of the top players of all time can take a good coach and make him a legend. That is why I say he needs time. NS has made winners out of different top notch programs. PC I really don't need to say anything else. UM is a good coach. He has only been at one big time program though. He has also had TT on every NC team. He didn't start his freshman year, but made several key contributions. Herschel was within an eyelash of winning 3 titles. This is why I say he needs time. Tom Osbourne is considered a great coach and it took him 30 years to win a NC. So, NC's are not the only measuring stick. TO was considered a legend before the NC's. I may be wrong about UM. If I am wrong I will admit it. I am not going anywhere. Time will tell.

OSD you contradict yourself there. Any good high school coach could win there, Zook wasnt able to win. Even with all the talent he had. This is the SEC no two bit coach can come in and win. Personally I yhink if we put Carroll, Stoops, and Brown in the SEC, they arent at the same level as they are now. They are good coaches, but it takes a different breed of cat to be succesful in the SEC.

Again your not really taking into consideration, the fact that CMR has put up with CWM for this long now. Any of these other coaches would get rid of the weak links. UM or NS would not have put up with CWM for this long and thats what sets them apart right now. I think that UGA has top five recruiting classes also, so that would give them the same talent that UF has.
