Joe Cox is a better passer than Stafford ever was

Nobody was claiming JC was better than Stafford after the OK St game, lets get through more of the season, and some better D then Arkansas plays, then make that comparison.

I was.

Look, Stafford still lost to Kentucky, Florida and Vanderbilt with Mark Richt calling the plays. Let's don't jump to \"blame Bobo\" conclusions.

This board has GOT to lighten up. I've never seen such negativity after WINS, for God's sake.

We just call it like we see it. My eyes don't lie to me. I'm not negative of JC, love the guy and hope he takes us all the way to a SEC Championship. He played fantastic last night and hope it continues. He has a lot of weapons around him and he's using them. BUT I am negative on our D. How can you not be? The secondary is THE worst I've ever seen.....not even close to a receiver AND can't tackle anybody either. We are good against the run with our front 7. SO, basically I'm only negative on our secondary and D coaching.

Oh....and our STUPID penalties and kickoff/kick coverage.

I have been a fan of Cox for a while now, not just with how he plays, but how he represents himself. I loved how at the end of the game, in the final interview he talked about fighting for 60 minutes, which is not always something we have done. We may not be flawless or penalty free by any means, but I will take Cox over Stafford any day because I know he will work 150% and use his whole heart to keep us in the game. He said it himself he will get even better at game management and he is proving time and again that he can rally our team to victory. It may just be game three but I have faith in him. He throws great passes and has good judgement, something I think Stafford lacked, as well as being a great leader, which you all know we need. Stafford had a cannon for an arm, but lousy judgment at times. It seems he thought he could make passes, he really couldn't make. Let's celebrate this win! Go Dawgs.

Speaking of Stafford...anyone watch the Detroit game yesterday? I heard something that almost made me puke: \"Matthew Stafford connects with Calvin Johnson for a touchdown.\" Erp...something just came up...

Yes it DOES but I'll bet MS will take anybody that will catch a ball so he can get it out of his hands as fast as possible. LOL

I can't even conceivably put Joe Cox in the same realm as Matthew Stafford and it has nothing to do with arm strength. Joe Cox makes bad decisions, yes he had a good game... THIS TIME. But even still he has no rhythm on the timing passes, and he throws every short yardage pass high which doesn't allow great receivers like AJ Green to gets yards after the catch. Take another look at the game film, other than the endzone pass to Green the other passes to him were only caught because he had to jump for them including a 7 yard pass down the field when he was wide open and could have had at least 5-10 more yards after the catch had he gotten the ball in stride. Stafford made mistakes too including overthrows, but at least on the short yardage situations we didn't always have to try and run like we are now, then fumbling blown down by the wind Richard Samuel is there to take the steam out. I see AJ Green as a young Randy Moss and I believe our offensive line is doing a good job despite Sturdivant's continuing injuries and I believe Caleb King is a great runner, but Joe Cox should be playing third string behind Gray and Murray.
