Here is Stafford's Stats - not exactly Heisman or All American numbers. Yes he is big, yes he has a cannon for an arm and he will be better. But during his college career he threw way too hard in many case (no touch) or he threw to high. Cox is not an all american or Heisman QB either but he is no where near the problem. We need a running game. PERIOD
I am starting to wonder if any of you know the game of football at all.
If you have even an average passing game then you will have your run game, you cant run the ball without the threat of passing the ball, ok you can if you have a guy like Herschel as your RB, last time I checked Hershel was trying MMA not starting at RB.
You have to get that threat at QB that will burn you if you stack too many in the box, right now that just isnt there and cox is way too inconsistent for a senior to scare anyone. With stafford teams
KNEW that if they stacked that box he was going to hit those WRs down the field, with cox its about 20% that he will make that pass. So they had to lay off to protect against that threat with stafford which opened up that running game, its Football 101 plain and simple, with cox they dont have to do that and it clogs up the running lanes.
Cox is not the passer stafford was and is not even qualified to hold his jock, if he was then he would have supplanted him during his time here, suffice to say stafford will be in the NFL for a long time while cox will be holding a clipboard at some small Div II-A school by this time next year.
That pretty much sums up who is better.
