Yeah, you should ALWAYS have a go to guy. But just dont run him in the ground unless he is just killing the defense. I guess what I'm trying to say is you should mix up the playing time and keep the position competitive.

Just because we have a lot of people who play the position where they run the ball doesn't mean we have a stable of running backs. Not a single one of them is proven. Remember when KM left the game our drives stalled. Almost every time. Our backups would pick a direction they want to run in and do it. showed no vision or creativity. I hope one of them come around because while he's exciting. Thomas will NOT be able to carry the load.

Let me clarify myself. If you have 2 or 3 backs of EQUAL TALENT, then I believe you should rotate them (hence the term \"Stable of Backs\"). They should not get game time just because they are in the discussed position.

Guys, call me old school, but I want a back in there who wants the ball in his hands every time a play is run. With that being said, I also wants that back to be smart enough to take himself out for a play or two when he is gassed. A stalled drive and a punt is much better than a fumble.
I believe in a feature back and capable backs behind him. \"Running back by committee\" means you don't have a single back capable of being a full time back. We have some talented backs in our backfield this year. We had some talented a few years ago when our backfield was billed three dawg night..mare. Brown, Ware, and Lumpkin. Thomas Brown was the best of that group but did he ever have that feature back season. No. (Closest was his freshman season) What happened when Knowshon came along? Yes, I know Ware left for the NFL and Lumpkin was hurt, but do you think that they would have gotten a lot of playing time behind KM? No disrespect to those guys, I've met all three of them and they are great young men, but they starred in spurts, fought injuries, and never could establish themselves as a gamebreaker, dominating, full time back.
Herschel, Garrison, Knowshon were mentioned earlier. Let me mention a few more. McClendon, Hampton, Tate, Edwards, Worley, and Musa. All feature backs in Georgia's record book. Who knows what Edwards could have done in his career if Goff didn't have him over on defense. That guy could see the field!
I hope one of our backs step up and gives us that feature back we need.;)
