In my opinion, everyone is making way too much out of those deep passes by Missouri. First, everyone (at least in the media) seems to think that if Missouri can do it, anyone can. Not so. Everyone also fails to notice that both passes were made in the first half, before defensive adjustments were made. After that, the deep ball wasn't there. (Also, on one of the deep routes, our safety got caught fixating on the QB and got looked off, so there was no help over the top.)
But let Florida think they can do that too. I think we have a big advantage if they try to throw, especially if they try to go deep. Why? Because Franks is not a classic pocket passer. He'll have to set back in the pocket and wait long enough for someone to get deep. Our pass rush should have time to get to him that way.
If I was coaching Florida, I'd dink and dunk. Make UGA's linebackers think about coverage, and not teeing off on RBs. Then I'd start handing off once I felt like they were dropping back. If UGA's safeties came up to help with my dinks and dunks, I'd drop a long ball out there to keep them honest.
But back to UGA - if Florida took my approach, I'd just make their receivers pay for those dinks and dunks by ringing their bells. They'd get alligator arms REAL QUICK.
In the end, I see UGA starting out slow and not losing the game, but wearing down the Florida front seven before ramping up the run in the second half.
UGa 34, Floriduh 10.
