Here is life in a nutshell. 1) These coaches spend 3-4 years kissing these entitled babies butts to give them the opportunity to get a FREE education that someone like me would have to go in DEBT to attain. 2) After spending 3-4 years getting them to said school, these coaches are teaching the player that the first time you don't get your pacifier, you can't just walk away from life and go somewhere easier. 3) AJ Turman can transfer to 105 schools in the country----just not ones where UGA has invested $$$$$$$$ and time in developing him and he can go to one of those and play against us. 4) The reason he can't go to Miami is Smart is teaching these "kids" about commitment and that the first time you face a little competition in life you can't run off to your other coach who was soft with you. 5) Coaches leaving is not the same thing. You are forgetting the 3-4 years these coaches spend as GA's working for FREE while spending 15 hours a day splicing video, helping host recruits, washing uniforms, helping position coaches, then having to go work their part time job at a pizza joint so they have enough money to ea with. THEN, if they are lucky, they get their first position job at a small D2 school making $28,000 a year working those same 15 hour days...............THEN, if they play their cards right, they have to move their family again to a smaller D1 school as an OC or DC..........and on and on.......When you get to the level of Richt, Smart, Saban, you have put in many years of no pay or crap pay and have earned the right to make a move because you now have a FAMILY to support....The 18 year old kids don't have to worry about feeding a family and don't have to worry about getting fired...4 years of free school that in some cases costs $60,000 per year for a normal student. That means, if I get a loan, I'm $240,000 in debt where a football player would be $0 in debt, meaning he actually made $240,000 in 4 years compared to me...6) You are forgetting the one rule that EVERY soccer coach (Coach T. and Drew at DSC, Coach Hayes at AFU, Coach Mary at Mill Creek, Coach Hedley at DSC) has told me and my daughter: commit to the SCHOOL, not the coach because your career could end anytime. AJ Turman chose to commit to Richt. Richt was fired. Turman can go to 105 schools. Just not 14 schools Smart chose. It's called teaching a life lesson. That is half the problem with kids today, some of whom I coach: they no when the going gets tough they can quit. In the end, they will all be quitters. If my girls are good enough for college sports they will be told one thing and one thing only when they decide where to play: "ASSUME YOU DESTROY YOUR KNEE AND NEVER PLAY ONE GAME OF SOCCER, now, which school would you feel most comfortable at? And remember, you are not guaranteed to have the same coach your senior year that you do your freshman year, so choose WISELY because I will NOT allow you to switch schools just because it is 'too tough or too rough or the coach is too mean'". That is a bad lesson to teach your kids..........Just like on ESPN when Mike Greenberg went off on Kirby about this. What a hypocrite. The next day he had Rick Pitino on and was kissing his butt. Pitino cheated on his wife and got the girl pregnant and made her have an abortion, and then ran prostitutes through the Louisville dorms during a recruiting trip....yet Greenberg kissed his butt. And the same Greenberg went off on Smart because AJ Turman could ONLY transfer to 105 D1 schools and not 119..............Now, these same dorks at ESPN know good and well that Saint Meyer and Jim Harbaugh would NEVER allow transfers like that. AND THAT IS ALL I WILL SAY ABOUT THAT
