Buc, I listened to that sanctimonious claptrap spouted on the Disney channel, and found it to be exactly as I just described.

I guess they are a bit upset that it looks like UGA may play by the same rules that Urban and Nick use... all within the allowable limits mind you.

Funny though... they all sit there as outsiders without one bit of knowledge of what went on with AJ and UGA. Face it... M&M and myself, and DawgDoc and Scooby... none of us knows the full story. In situations like that I prefer to step back and not judge, but let the person who was hired to do the job.... do the job.

M&M... that was some hyperbolic bullpuck righteous indignation, and they can just shove it
right back where it came from.

You understand better than I do. Wartdawg.

Truth is in the eye of the beholder . . . . I guess.

The director doesn't like it when one of the character actors decides to go off-script.

In the past we have had "actors" who knew their role and toed the line like they were told. Kirby is
rewriting the script.

Just looking through the NCAA guidelines. Wow, 400+ pages.

Page 170 talks about transfer rules. I don't see anything about this transferring subject other than you have to sit out a year before playing, but im not a lawyer. Is there something schools put in their scholarship document that says we must approve which school you go to?

If someone like Derrick Henry decided he wanted to move over to Auburn, how could this be stopped? Looks like he could sit out a year and be eligible for play after this. I thought I read they could transfer anywhere, just couldn't be on athletic scholarship for the first year. I bet schools could find an academic scholarship for the "right" guy who wanted to transfer in.

Im kind of back and forth on this issue. Could see it getting abused with recruiting continuing through 4 years. It would be okay with me to give guys the option to transfer where ever they want if the coach leaves. Still not sure about if they should have the option if an assistant leaves.

Appears that many involved in college football have some thoughts on this issue. Interesting article.

Pulled the bold/italic paragraph below from the article. Golic, did this not happen at Notre Dame? Let that one slide, eh . . . .

Greenberg’s partner, Mike Golic, mimicked the notion, saying that Smart “looks bad” in the grand scheme of the situation.

Golic is an absolute idiot. He and Greeny are trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill here. He's saying smoke and there's absolutely no fire. He also has a thinly veiled disdain for SEC schools and has been rendered to perpetual butt-hurt status ever since Alabama rolled over Notre Dame in the NC game. It's so obvious that you'd have to be blind to miss it.

“You’re scared of some 19-year-old kid going someplace, a guard who’s obviously barely playing for you and that’s why he wants to transfer in the first place or has whatever other reason to go someplace else,” Greenberg said midway through the show. “And you’re so terrified to allow him to go to someone you play on your schedule? Shame on you.”

No, shame on you Greenberg. Your agenda-drive prattle is so obnoxious that it turns my stomach. Slow news day in college football for you? A little light on show material?

Unless these two overpaid blowhards failed to notice, tons of schools have transfer restrictions. It's called protecting their interests. No one is scared of anything. These two are engaging in nothing more than emotional accusations to elicit a response and gain attention; this is what the media does best in this day and age. Make a story where one doesn't exist.

I'll say this clearly --- there is no story here. There is no problem here.
