Their defense is very very talented. And we all saw what happened when our running game gets shut down.
Honestly it pains me to say this, but I don't think we get a win in Jacksonville this year. I hope I'm wrong, I hate the gators more than any other football program in the country.
Same players as last year, but they are playing as good of football as anyone we've played this year.
It's a wonder what a simple coaching change can do.
Hell Donnan got fired for losses to Florida, auburn, and tech..... Just saying.
BullDawg2010, like you, the gators are at the top of my list as a team that I want to see us beat.
I do believe that we are faced with an unfair advantage and that in my opinion is leadlership. Not just Mark Richt, that has become evident. Anyone that understands the game understands that his leadership is not one that wraps its arms around all involved.
Same can be said for our McGarity. They have certain goals to meet, goals that those above them require them to meet.
I go back to McGarity coming on board, sticking his chest out and calling for Richt to sit with him and get the obstacles concerning winning football taken care of. What McGarity said was, anything that hinders you as the head coach, I will take care of them, you concentrate on winning football games. Good message. Winning football keeps money flowing into the vault. That is paramount.
What "I" have noticed is a downward turn since our AD came to Athens. We are not winning the games that McGarity knew had a huge effect on the program. Again this season we are in the same place we have been for too long, and I say that knowing that the talent level in Athens is at maybe an all time high. I look over the players still on campus, I scratch my head and say to myself, I did not see what I saw against Tennessee. I did, and I don't care how many times we have beaten Tennesse in the past, that game along with too many others have been poorly managed. From top to bottom.
Said many times on this board. I did not start the statement, but it goes like this . . . .
Players take on the personality of their Head Coach.
I believe in a nutshell that describes what we see year after year.
Could say more, will stop this post with a statement I have made several times over a long period.
Mark Richt is coaching the same way Bobby Bowden did, from start to finish, with one difference . . . . Bobby Bowden was the head coach when Mark Richt was a part of the National Championship at FSU. Can't win the East side of the SEC, sure as heck not going to play in the Final Four. One more thing. If it was the Final Eight, we would not be there. If it was the Final Twenty, we would not be there. Coaching or player talent? I say lack of coaching. Coaching that starts at the top.
