Yep, and what is really frustrating, is that when richt finally does leave, the program is going to be so far gone that it probably will take a couple of years for a good coach to get back on track, then all the richt disciples will be saying "See I told you we shouldn't have gotten rid of him".

Truth ^ ^ ^ ^ ^

Allow me this . . . .

Things that I think about.

After the licking that Tech put on us with their running game, took me back to Brendan Douglas #22. Originally Douglas was going to Tech, last minute offer from Mark Richt, Douglas switched. Beginning to see a pattern?

Wonder on Saturday with Douglas watching the game from the sideline if he had thoughts about playing for the Tech offensive coaches. Do know this, if he had attended Tech, he would have been a pain in our butt on Saturday. He would have carried the ball a lot along with Zach Laskey.

Takes me to this again. Faton Bauta, same situation. Can only imagine Bauta running the Tech offense.

I continue to shake my head when I see talented young men basically watch the game from the sideline, game in, game out. Attached to Faton Bauta, yep. Attached to our offensive coaching staff, nope.

Faton, would really like to see you join the list of athletes that are going elsewhere, realizing that playing time will not happen at UGA. You have so much talent, still have time to go elsewhere and display the talent you have, won't happen in Athens. Picture is clear coming from Richt/Bobo, you were told one thing and basically it was not the truth.

Florida wanted Faton Bauta real bad, UGA put a lot of pressure on Faton and . . . . See a pattern here also.

Edit . . . .
Reading the article below, just deepens my unfavorable feelings for McGarity. He needs to understand this . . . . If it came down to McGarity or Richt being fired, McGarity don't let the door hit you in the butt. Folks, it is a shell game that the "Group" is playing in Athens.

No raise for McClendon and I read this in the article below . . . .

Getting knocked out of the major-bowl picture also cost Richt personally. Based on the contract extension Richt received in 2012, he would have received a $100,000 bonus had Georgia landed in one of the six access bowls. His assistants have a similar bonus structure.

Ever think about McGarity's 10 years as Jeremy Foley's assistant. Two peas in a pod.

Foley is playing with "fire" at this point. Muschamp is gone. He has to get this hiring of a football coach right, or . . . . those with the "where with all" are not real satisfied with Foley at this point.

My guess is that Florida/Colorado will make a deal along these lines, similar to the way Muschamp will receive his 6 million. Florida will pay x number of dollars per year for the services of Jim McElwain, rather than a lump sum of 7.5 million. Folks in Colorado know that they have a head football coach that knows how win, they also know that there is a lot of pressure being applied to Foley by those that sit in the expensive seats.

Hope that it continues, really hurts their recruiting. Those that follow the program know this and it will make the hole deeper for Foley if McElwain gets away. Bull Gators don't like "second choice". McGarity/Foley all about money in the vault, both act as if the money belongs to them personally.

Jim McElwain would cause us many problems, and I would venture to say, had he been our coach in the South Carolina game, the Georgia Tech game, games would have ended differently. My opinion. McElwain is a very good D1 football coach, don't believe it, read some of the things that Nick Saban has to say about him.

Edit: Thought this quote might be worth a read. Careful what you said Athletic Director Jeremy Foley . . . .

Jeremy Foley: "What should be done eventually must be done immediately," specifically with regards to retaining or firing a coach.

My thoughts?....Good for UF and good for UGA!...We've all speculated, herein, as to WHAT it will take for the SS Mediocrity to run aground...McElwain's hire will punch another hole in Captain Christian's vessel. Next season we will all see the resurgence of SECW authority...and right here in the East,...Butch will have UT one step closer, The "Skipper" is still Darth Visor's BIATCH and you can put the UF game as questionable....Toss in Tech and the Sunshine Pumpers will have very little to work with....

Truth is, we've all been expecting this to happen,...where mediocrity intersects with irrelevance...saddle up and enjoy the ride, cuz this boat should have been scuttled a few years ago!

May as well make up our minds to forget next year.

Buc, I hear you clearly about very good players on the bench but we can't have it both ways. Imo, it's a nice problem to have creating that much depth. Depth is something we all have complained about in the past and now we certainly have it. Glad to see good players on the bench.

Maybe the Bauta situation is a little different because he doesn't technically fit our offensive scheme but maybe they thought he was good enough to give him a try. Regardless, I certainly hear you about Bauta but my point is depth. I want great athletes on the bench itching to become starters....if they work hard enough they will get into the rotation. Also creates competition which we all know is a good thing.

Depth and more depth imo.....we have at least come around in recruiting depth for the program. At least we have excelled at something.

From what little I can gather, Jacob Park from South Carolina will move ahead of Faton Bauta. If Ramsey can stay away from injury, Faton Bauta's chances of playing for UGA are slim and none. Already have a pro style quarterback, Jacob Eason signed for 2016. Being compared to Matt Stafford. All but one of the above mentioned quarterbacks will see playing time in Athens.

That is exactly the point I am trying to make . . . . Faton Bauta never did fit the Richt/Bobo way of playing football "technically". Just calling it the way it is.

Comparison on 5th year quarterbacks coached by Alabama and Georgia coaches. Blake Sims going to ATL on Saturday.

Edit: Jim McElwain/CSU cleared up buyout issues, McElwain agrees to be UF’s coach sources told @ClowESPN

Edit #2: www.gainesville.com/article/20141204/articles/141209834

Edit #3: McElwain's offense has been a big part of his success at Colorado State. He ran a pro-style attack at Alabama, but has gone back to a spread offense at Colorado State, similar to the one he had success with at Fresno State. Type of offense that Faton Bauta should have played in.

Have to add this . . . . All of the media BS that has gone on for the past day or so about Foley/McElwain.

Jeremy Foley refuses to step back when he can get "his share of the limelight". Trying to show the gator faithful that he is still "all that". This hiring was decided when Foley and his folks boarded the private jet. On that jet were some folks that do more than sit in administration offices.

I have been questioned off of this board about some of what I am posting about the gators. Like I am on board with Florida gator improvement in their hiring practices. Anyone that doubts my allegiance to the University of Georgia, stick it. There are many that read this board and do not post, ever.

I would suggest anyone that doubts my intentions read post #33 in this thread. Goes like this, and makes more damn sense than a lot of BS that I read.

Remember this, every season we play Florida and Auburn. Reason I mention Auburn, a serious defensive coordinator, not head coach is going make the folks on the Plains happy again.

I am a realist. What I "really" see in 2015, not a pretty picture with our lack of "Leadership". Leadership is not developed overnight, truthfully I think it is a gift.
