This just in: Nebraska fires

HC Bo Pelini for basically being the Big 10 equivalent of Mark Richt.

The same 9 win consistency... underachieving... pretty much the same thing, although admittedly Bo Pelini had much, much, MUCH less to work with than Mark Richt...

but fired anyway... similar results... much less to work with..

In the "Would you rehire CMR?", thread, I said if they win the East, yes, otherwise no. They didn't win the East.

Plus 2 of the 3 losses were directly attributable to bad coaching decisions.

So if I'm being consistent I have to stick with no.

The other half of that equation is, "And replace him with whom?"

I. have. no. idea.

Oh and just for the record... The fired Bo Pelini was last seen by most UGA fans; beating Mark Richt.

Then again... that is true of a lot of recently fired coaches.

I don't think it's our job to know who. We don't have the details.. we are not privy to conversations. It's not our job to know who although many here can throw out a lot of good candidate names. I don't know who, but I recognize major under achievement and moronic coaching decisions when I see them.
We all do here... this board has a lot of knowledge. kentdaddy, Buc, wlayton.. all of us know something is wrong here.


and the fact remains...an other coach with much less to work with is fired for basically producing similar results to Mark Richt.

2 coach's tenures over the last 7 years---

63-29 W-L, 10-23 against ranked teams, 3-3 bowls, 2 Division championships, 0 conference championships, 1 losing season.

67-27 W-L, 8-17 against ranked teams, 3-3 bowls, 3 Division championships, 0 conference championships, no season less than 9 wins.

In case you're not sure, the 2nd one is the one fired, the first one is richt.

Difference is a fan base and AD that is evidently not satisfied with mediocrity and not improving.
