sadlerdawg wrote: Buc, what you don't seem to realize is that the only group where it is mandatory that UGA football be more than just Saturday afternoons is UGA---the players, the coaches, admin, etc. For a lot of fans, UGA football is from August to January. I don't see anything wrong with that as you seem to.
I don't care to discuss recruiting that much because as we know, many recruits don't pan out and some do that aren't expected to. Talking about recruits before they've hit the field is pure conjecture and guessing (and hoping) and some people aren't interested in that.
A lot of people don't care to discuss the coaching changes because we've all been down that road before. "Word coming out of Athens" and "according to our sources" and "what I see in interviews" is almost exactly the same now as it was when grantham took over--that the new collection of defensive coaches is going to change UGA football. "Look what Pruitt has done" seems to be everyone's battle cry, but the same was said about grantham. I have no desire to discuss this or debate it when I have no idea what he's capable of.
Then we hear the players and coaches have a new attitude and spring in their step and they're saying all the right things. We hear that every spring.
So I get it, myself and others don't post enough for your standards. I come to the board and read often, but don't post a lot because either I have nothing to add or I just don't want to. I guess that makes me a fair weather poster in your opinion, but different strokes I guess.
Couldn't agree with you more. But you can do as I do and "stir the pot". It is going to take far more than Pruitt and his hand picked coaches to get this team where it needs to be. We have been way to long a "second" tier SEC team, while beating the gaytors and Tech is all good we need to compete with the Alabama's, FSU's and LSU's. Winning the East is just not going to do it anymore.
We should of made 3 coaching changes and only made one IMHO.

I have plenty to say (too much often times) about UGA football 365 days per year. Love talking about recruiting, schedules, coaching strategies, opponents, uniform choices, UGA history; you name it, I like ALL things Georgia Bulldogs. I simply don't have the time (travel a bunch for my work, married now, empty rental house to lease, too many weeds in my yard, etc.) that I used to in order to post as often.
I read every thread here almost daily & enjoy the discussions even if the topics sometimes get repetitive. That said, I'm with DawgDoc on welcoming fans of other SEC teams to our board here. I remember GatorInGA was a real good guy several years ago & I'm pretty sure we had some Bama & Aubie fans that were tolerable once upon a time.
I particularly enjoy reading what the "wiser" Dawgs with the gray in the beards have to say as I feel a lot can be learned from my seniors. DawgDoc, NCDawg, ElvisDawg, (others I'm forgetting) always have such insight it is just a pleasure to read their thoughts. Also, I really miss dapolla...he always had great tidbits of information about UGA that I found informative & he was a die-hard Dawg to the core! And where is Duck? He always kept things interesting in here even if we all didn't necessarily agree with 100% of his viewpoints (no questioning his love for UGA); hope you see this message Duck & hope you're doing well?
I'll admit one thing, I intentionally quit posting right at the end of last season because everything got so negative in here (understandably so given our underwhelming season & poor bowl performance) but still, the negativity got to me so I just went silent for a while for the 1st time since joining Steve DGD's web-site back in July 2007.
Anyhows, I'll try my best to post more often because I really enjoy the diversity of viewpoints this board offers! Buc & wlayton are the lifeblood of this board & have been since I joined 7 years ago but what really makes this a great web-site (besides Steve) is how many different age groups & viewpoints are shared in one place but we all share one strong & common bond, WE ALL BLEED RED & BLACK!!!
GO YOU SILVER BRITCHES!!!

Actually I think this is the most active the board has been between seasons. Buc, I love you man but it will get slower while people go on vacation June and July. Hang in there. Then comes August and off we go!

DawgDoc, I made it to 64 today. I know, still just a kid. Good to hear from you.
FYI: we have almost 4000 twitter followers who are reading the board posts. And 2500 Facebook followers. As you can see our readers go way beyond the number of hits on the site.
For winning the Natty give every Dawg a bone AND prime rib steak.

Once again a passion driven mission. For four months the keys fly. And then withdrawal
For eight months until the cycle begins anew
IMHO. As slow as it is we are in for a surge of activity growing on the horizon
From the old TV show. LAUGH iN. very interesting. What I think the 2014 season is
Shaping up as. Go Dawgs
Go Dawgs!
