Yesterday I posted the Garbin article . . . . post #12 in this thread. Looking around this Friday morning, see that others thought the article was worth posting and commenting on. Below taken from another popular site.

Also, really interesting research by Garbin. I think that’s something we all kinda knew in the back of our minds, but I had not seen it fleshed out in black and white like that.

He's back . . . .

Not only is urban meyer working the Southeast real hard, now we have another former SEC coach doing the same. Does not set up well for the SEC. Franklin will be involved in Satellite Camps in Georgia and Florida.

Like TN Dawg said, college football is a 12 month project.

Slive will have to step up and make sure there is a rule change about the over 50 mile restrictions. Small wonder that the SEC has won 7 of the last 8 National Championships, lots of serious talent in the Southeast. Another "Northern" invasion. Said with TIC.

Edit: Seven years ago, the NCAA passed Rule 13.12.1.2, limiting where football programs can run high school camps -- basically any out-of-state location that sits more than 50 miles from campus. However, a loophole allows coaching staffs to work at -- but not hold -- other camps outside the 50-mile radius.

I read their post ,but hey don't get my attention nearly as much as those I read form those who had posted during the summer.. They will always complain about coaches, play calling, lack of depth, color of the helmets, you name it, because they are behind the "eight ball" when it comes to knowledge of what has transpired during the off season. I shouldn't even call it off season, it is really 12 months out of the year. Real college football fans know that not just UGA fans. Season are made or broken February - July.

IMO their complaining and bitching would hold more water if they had at least kept up with football before the first kick off in late August. I am thankful there are some a lot more dedicated and diligent than myself to keep this thing going. Please keep it up and call us our when it is needed. Nuf said.

Go Dawgs! GATA!

BTW this is BS
SEC schools are powerless to retaliate: Conference bylaws say its schools can only hold camps within a 50-mile radius of their own campus.

So you're saying that people who don't post year round are bitchy complainers who don't know anything about or follow college football and aren't real UGA fans. Wow, good post.

Sadlerdawg - Not exactly. Just feel that some of the negativity is due to lack of information. I have often complained about things. Then I started reading more posts here throughout year and my thought process was opened to new information and points of view. Sorry for the confusion and unclarity. May also be the reason I read more than I post.

I don't know who to attribute the quote to, but it applies to me often. It goes something like this:
"You can keep your mouth closed and let others think you are ignorant, or open your mouth and remove all doubt"

I like the football season posters. They add a new perspective. The reason I don't let anyone in that can't post intelligently is to keep the conversation interesting.
I don't follow off season in detail other than on Dawgs.com. I read the posts to keep up thanks to all the off season posters. :)

For winning the Natty give every Dawg a bone AND prime rib steak.
