sadlerdawg, you have always been straight forward. That in my opinion is your MO. Same can be said of TN Dawg, he does have a good grip on UGA. What is going on in this thread you and I have seen many times here. Also say this again, usually the mentality of this board steps forward, not like I see too often coming out of ATL.
Allow me this. I have seen what I think is a change in what is being said here. By that I mean some of the thoughts on Mark Richt. Some here have not been in agreement with our head coach for a long time. Have noticed that the more we talk and present what we believe to be the truth, changes in attitude have occured here.
Some months back in a thread it was said that the time has come for those that believe, stand up and say it. I see some that were in almost total disagreement on some of the Mark Richt comments being presented here having somewhat of a change of feelings. It was also said that the "heat" has to be kept on those running our program, meaning more than Mark Richt.
What I have tried to convey is my opinion on not accepting what has been fed to us. If we allow the past to remain and no changes, then to me it is pretty simple, we will be a up and down football team. Have used the term yo-yo several times.
Here again in 2014 we have new coaches on the defense, that to me proves the yo-yo statements that have been made.
Another point to that fact . . . . Gus Malzahn took over top spot and went out and got the coaches that he wanted. Asking coaches to come into the program that were getting its butt kicked, by everyone. Whether we like it or not, Gus got the job done, and quickly. Not here to talk about Auburn's team, just trying to point out that some are better than others, whether recruiting players or coaches.
Do know this. Whether lucky or whatever, Mark Richt somehow got a group of teachers to step into our program. Final score has not been posted as yet for Jeremy Pruitt, but Tracy Rocker is a top line defensive coach. Tracy Rocker will not remain in Athens for a long period unless our head coach stays out of the way.
If the new group of coaches do not produce, that falls on Richt/McGarity's shoulders. Group will only do what those two want. Fact.
Know that I am saying the same things that DawgDoc mentioned a certain way in this thread, and he is absolutely right. Being true to myself and this board, as I have said since getting off of the Richt Band Wagon for the last time . . . . First time shame on Richt, second time shame on Buc. Those that are fed up with my long winded posts, simple thing, said it before, don't read.
Board is open and some things are being said pointing in my direction, best way around that is starting a different thread. No hard feelings, just believe in what I have tried to do on this board. That comes to this . . . . not a single board member that I can honestly say I don't like. Several of the newer posters really impress me, for whatever the hell that is worth.
sadlerdawg, one thing I know, in your profession, you keep the heat on, and for good reason. I feel the heat needs to be kept on in our program, reason being I think it might lead to results. Too often in the past the UGA faithful were pissed at the end of a bad year, then come back after more than one bad year and not really look at the main reason behind the yo-yo effect that I have mentioned. Offensive line play, Special Teams play . . . . what???
End with this, just trying to do what little I can to get "things" noticed and maybe changed or taken care of.
