They were missing as many starters as we were due to injury. Just truly sick of it. Speechless and it is not going to get any better.
Just not a lot to say because I truly believed CMR could do a good job. Didn't necessarily expect a NC, but I thought for sure we would be BCS bowl contenders. Really made a fool out of me. Shame on me. Really sick with myself for taking a stand. I have learned from it no doubt.
Hope you guys had a great Christmas, and a Happy New Year.
Don't beat yourself up..he fooled a lot of people. He is nothing without on field player/coaches that can carry the team. Think about it he had Greene/Pollack, followed by DJ..all leaders and able to elevate those around them. Then came Matthew Stafford who despite an arm was never and is never gonna be a great qb or leader. Poor ole Joe Cox tried but didn't have the tools and then Aaron Murray had to be the on the field coach, leader and warrior. Unfortunately Aaron couldn't coach defense.
I have been one of the biggest critics of Mark Richt since I got here (on this board). not necessarily the won/loss record as it is the way the team has played over the years. Despite his catchy slogans such as finish the drill, the Georgia way etc his teams have been at times soft, usually come out flat/unmotivated/unprepared/off the field issues and the last few years have been thoroughly out-coached and did I mention out motivated.
Not everybody here is a fan of VD but the thing that attracted me to UGA football way back in the late 70's was UGA was always a scrappy fighting team. Win or lose every opposing team knew they had been in a dawg fight (much credit goes to Erk). A bunch of over achieving dogs every Saturday. I was never ever embarrassed to be a DAWG FAN.
Fast Forward to 2006 and beyond and it is the opposite- a bunch of under achieving dogs. I mean no disrespect to the players..they are talented but they still need coaching.
We have all been right and wrong with our opinions, we have disagreed about the island and the kool-aid but one thing for sure is we all want UGA to be in the fight for the NC and competitive in its losses.
Now we mostly agree that will never happen under Richt.
