Average and Wart, agree completely. On CMR, it would be hard to just walk away. Believe we all have the competitive drive that makes us believe we can still get the job done.

I do know many feel CMR will be back next year, but I believe if he slips up again, he might be staring down the barrel.

GO DAWGS.

Our time is slipping away for a shot at Smart... I can NOT see him passing up an opportunity at Texas if it comes up and believe me I think it will at the end of this season. I'm pretty sure Saban would much rather see Smart at Texas rather than UGA. Of course Smart is his own man but I'm sure they have had the discussion on what Smarts next move will be. I would love to see Smart come back home but our time is running out!

I have been big on Strong and I think he could flip our program quicker than Smart could. He will have our kids more than excited to play for us ovenight! I also feel like he will bring in some recruits that would more than likely go somewhere else (can elaborate).

Speaking on our QB situation. I sure wish we would have went after Deshaun Watson back in his Sophmore year when every other recruiter saw his talent! I have watched this kid since a freshman and he is very special!!! I have mixed feelings about rather HM or FB is gonna be our guy next year. Both are good but they are neither an AM!!! If CMR sticks to his word then it looks like HM will be at the helm. I'm not sold on Ramsey yet and LeMay will prolly never be a starter at UGA. I am excited about Jacob Park that's coming in next year...

sflanagan21, guess it all comes down to coaches choice. By that mean long term, not short term. Each and every one of the quarterbacks that you mention have talent.

As sadlerdawg said earlier and years back . . . . have to play the system that has been around for a long time. Not knocking the system, but in truth have seen "Richt's system" change over the years.

That is not a shot at Richt, do believe as I said earlier, he is doing some of the same things that I watched Bobby Bowden do many moons ago. Mark Richt has passed the torch to Mike Bobo on the offense and I know for sure he has passed the torch to Todd Grantham on the defense. His words, not mine.

Agreeing with AllDawgs5, think that Mark Richt is "tired". That also is not a shot over the bow. Loved what I did to be able to retire, took me a while to face up to that decision. Best decision I have ever made, for me and my family.

Comes down to this for me . . . . Every year we hear the same "stuff". Most years we end up doing what I am doing right now, wishing for more. Been around long enough to "understand coach speak". Comes from my life before retirement . . . . been there and have "heard that".

Going to try real hard to be a "nice" supporter and contributor to the University of Georgia. I however am no different than the Bull Gators in Florida and elsewhere, want results. What pleases some, does not necessarily please Buc. That of course works both ways.

Good to see you popping your head in once in a while, understand that some have to "work". I did my time, so . . . . :)

If Richt would follow his heart and let go of his stubbornness , it could happen.
However, we could be a day late and a dollar short.

Another thought that keeps crossing my mind.

Kirby Smart has become "all that" serving under Nick Saban for several years. No way that Saban has failed to rub off on Smart. What does that amount to? All we need to do is check what the Alabama defense has done year after year.

Read the different ways that the Alabama players workout, of course they are not giving away all of their "secrets". One that really caught my eye was the yoga training and other stretching and strengthening excercises that are used in Saban's system.

A few times over the past couple of years the subject comes up about hiring a new Head Coach. Usually goes something like this . . . . Since we can't get Nick Saban, then . . . . take your choice.

My point is this . . . . Kirby Smart is as close as Georgia or any other program will come to getting Nick Saban. Kirby Smart is now a clone of Nick Saban. averagedawg, think we both know that Kirby will probably land elsewhere and that does disappoint me.

Going to go with the "tired theory" that has been discussed, and I do believe that Mark Richt is tired. Maybe as AllDawgs5 suggested, Mark Richt might surprise us and end it all real soon. Crossed fingers that KS would return home. Return home with all of the things that he has learned under Nick Saban. That would be a very good thing.

Allow me to dream.
