This young man is a Redshirt Freshman. Have followed him since he left South Florida. Understand that he had some arm problems, but that has been solved and Faton Bauta is fine.
Think I was close to right when I said AM would do well. Also said that Ramik Wilson was special, currently leading the UGA team in tackles.
What bothers me is this . . . . Here we have a young man that many in the college football world would love to have. Compare his talent with Brendan Douglas below. Look similar? Will Faton Bauta die on the vine?
For a long period of time we have posted on this board about talent that somehow never finds its way to the playing field. This is the reason we need a change at the top. Talent evaluation once these young men are on campus leave a lot to be desired.
Be reminded that Nick Marshall, yes he of the "sticky fingers" is now running the Auburn offense. What happened? Simply in my view, brought a coach in to run the program that understands "talent". Remember Marshall was going to be a defensive back at Georgia. Reminds me of a quarterback in the NFL that wanted to be a quarterback, Georgia coaches appraisal of the young man . . . . tightend. Young man ends up with a National Championship ring and first round #1 pick in the NFL. What more needs to be said?
Many on this board and others in the Bulldog Nation are "blinded" during the offseason. I wore that crown not that long ago. Anyone looking at the 2014 Recruits? Incredible amount of talent . . . . what happens to this group. Nick Saban remains in Tuscaloosa, or takes over at Texas. Whatever he wants. UGA, win x amount of games. Time for a change, and I think that change should be Kirby Smart, or Charlie Strong.
Back to this . . . . Both of these young men played offense and defense. Scratching my head . . . . McGarity, your boss at Florida is up to his butt in alligators. Bulldogs are known to have locked jaws. Just saying.
