Once again, it isnt the offense that we should be concerned with. The defense right now can't stop an old lady from crossing the street.

Goose, I agree. UF's defense could make a lot of play callers look bad. That's what good defense's do. Hope this doesn't come off as offensive, but uf has more NFL caliber talent playing in this game on their defense than we do on our offense. Different story if both teams were completely healthy, but neither team is.

The fact that our defense has proven anything this year, is by far much scarier than anything Bobo could do. We are playing an offense that has been really bad. They do have some talent, but they haven't been very good.

With our offensive injuries, and their defense, I am very worried. Grew up with the old saying, defense wins games. Their D is night and day better than ours to this point. Hoping that changes this Saturday. Keep waiting for the light to switch on.

It's hard to look at a comment like that and think it's an understatement, yet somehow it is.

I just hope the light swith that remains off is the one that makes the UF offense competent, because their
continued ineptitude is our D's greatest hope this week.

I know the strength of the UF d-backs, but I think we still need to throw down the field a few times.

If we approach this game with the same dink and dunk conservative super ball control passing game we
used in Nashville, we are not going to be able to run the ball at all.

We have to at least make the Gayduhs respect the fact that we will try and go over the top, or they
will keep creeping down until they look like they have 9 in the box.

Going over some articles I flagged to read later but never got around to reading....

A few weeks back we here started talking about the complexity of the defense....

“A lot of those guys from the secondary last year, they’ve told us the playbook they have in the NFL is not even as hard as the playbook we have here,” safety Josh Harvey-Clemons said. “It just shows you right there how difficult our defense can be, I guess. …

"We run a very complex defense. You’ve got to know a lot to play fast.”

The thing is we all know the D was really young and we expected problems at the beginning. I think we just expected a lot more progress after the Baptism of fire our early schedule gave us. So it seems very possible that the complexity of learning the D is a real problem. I read another article that I can't find the link to right now where MR responded to that by saying they were limiting the playbook because of that, but maybe the complexity of
page 2 is the reason why we can't move on from page 1... so I'm not sure that is a response that makes it acceptable. In that article, he did not refute that the D was very complex, and now we have former players saying their NFL playbook isn't even as hard...

Makes you go hmmmm..

I can verify that JHC would much prefer to play safety. Had a long conversation again this morning with someone that is in touch. My opinion, a certain coach was trying to do it his way, not where JCH wanted to play and could play much faster. Egos and self pride, some never get past that. Reason some continue to change job locations.
