Fellows we are getting close to a time that I look forward to every year.

Been a good thread, many opinions on a variety of what ifs. Tomorrow all of us will either be in JAX or viewing the wide screen.

Single biggest disappointment for me . . . .

Georgia vs. Florida

I can put up with most of what Gary Danielson has to say. Verne Lundquist, might be a "nice man", he sure as heck is not "up on football". JMO

Agree about the imcompletions, and hate to say this, even putting it out there in certain situations, a pick on a deep ball is not the worst thing. 3rd and long from between the 40's. Take a chance. If it gets picked, make the tackle, and flip the field. Supposed to be able to do that with the kicking game, but....

Lord knows it would be better to flip the field that way other than to attempt a punt, lol

Yep.. he seems at times to be a man of extremes. Either pass or bomb happy, or he goes into a shell. We all know we need balance, and not just betwen run and pass. Sometimes there is a necessary balance between the types of passes you run. Can't become predictable and sometimes we do.

wlayton wrote: WD....I do AGREE about taking shots down the field (you should every game), with our WR's, it will simply be a wasted down other than it being in the back of their minds. Also my point is that it may NOT loosen their D up very much because they can man up against our receivers and still stack the box. They won't have to use safeties over the top...zones etc. They will simply whip our WR's one on one and play the run.

Hope I'm wrong....hope AM hits someone deep 3 times etc.....think we will definetly struggle to move the ball.

I agree with that wlayton... just looking for some way to keep them just a tiny bit honest. As good as they are, they can possibly still be beaten with a double move and play action. If not beaten, at least put it in their heads and one of them may make just a small hesitation jumping the run threat. Plus if they want to play man on us all day... we can send a couple deep and run those DB's right out of the play with their backs to AM and then we can screen behind that. I just think if we go in there with the same ultra conservative game plan we had in Nashville regarding the levels we're ready to throw the ball into... it's gonna be a long day.

Totally understand....I'll just take a win any way we can get it. ;)

Yep wlayton... any way we can. Bring whatever tools ya got, and don't leave them in the box.

I'll take being 100% wrong in what I claim we need to do... if whatever we actually do works, and/or we win.

and/or because all that matters is that "win" part.

won't have to worry about the "long ball" on 3rd and long. Bobo runs it up the gut in those situations

My point is why the "let it rip" when Bobo did not "let it rip" 2 weeks ago in Nashville against a much weaker D and the SEC East title on the line. Now I guess we have nothing to lose anyway since we are going to end up in a 3rd or 4th tier bowl......like I said let AM get his records, he deserves them and I hope he does "light it up" and make Bobo look like a genius like he has done all year long........

ogredawg, one thing for sure. AM has progressed in the five years. Gave it everything he had, both book work and football. AM is a Damn Good Dawg, and I appreciate his efforts for the length of time he has been in Athens. This young man will be one of those that will always return to campus and support the program.

Another reason I like AM is the fact that he always got off the floor and returned to the field. Still have bad thoughts when I remember Auburn and Alabama hits that were meant to disable AM.

AM was not satisfied to remain in Athens or return home to Tampa when football was out of season. Young man went to Mississippi and Oklahoma to "learn" new things, from some folks that had been there and done that. Not a slap at Mike Bobo, just a high five to AM not sitting on his butt as many college quarterbacks do. No one person knows everything. JMO. Getting close ogredawg. Big game, big consequences, me thinks.
