Then you may be part of the problem. Football is not sunday school. The problem with Richt is the same problem Tebow now has. No one will touch him because they do not want the evangelical circus that follows. That is why Jacksonville had no interest. People have latched on to Richt for the wrong reasons. And religious folks present the case if if it is a false dichotomy. One does not have to be outwardly and superficially pious to be religious or to be a good Christian. It is not an either or thing. The religious show so common in the south is just that...............a show.
I agree CMR's first job is to win football games but there are other things more important than football AND.....I, for one, believe you can do both.
You cannot do the other if you do not do the first. The first goal is to win football games. If it is not then drop down to a lower division and play Liberty.
I'm also pretty sure that there are many players in Athens now that were undecided between a couple of schools and CMR's beliefs and character is why they chose UGA. Also believe that was a deciding factor with many parents in many living rooms.
And that has gotten us jack squat. I would take the Saban approach any day.
uh....just my opinion.
We all have them, but just like the evangelical folks have ruined the GOP they have made replacing Mark Richt nearly impossibly. UGA deserves better than this half ass coach with no discipline.
