UGA will never win a NC under Mark Richt

Blast him for bad coaching if you want, then give him some props if he coaches a good game....

Hate is a strong word and I tend not to use it.

I take offense that you say I am muzzled when he wins. I am by far muzzled on this board about anything on this team. Be it coaching or players. I lay it on the line but do not and mostly refuse to put the blame on the players.

CMR has won yes but he has been a mediocre coach. The early years he WON with another coaches talent all be it Donnan and Goff could not win with the talent and CMR did.

He has had more mediocre seasons than he has good ones. Been a long time since 2005 and he has more NFL caliber talent today than he did 8-9 years ago. Have we seen improvement in his coaching attitude, yes we have and I have stated just that. Did I say the coaches and I use plural because CMR cannot do it all by himself did coach a good game Saturday, yes I did so THEY did get the attaboy from me because they did thier JOB.

CMR is not the one to lead us into the future of playoff football and this will possibly his last chance to win the Crystal Trophy. Hope he proves me wrong but IMHO it ain't gonna happen.

I'm not singling anyone out in these posts. Just bc I quoted you doesn't mean I am talking directly about you. Last year there were a few posters on this board, but mainly other boards, who showed up after SC bashing Richt for the blowout loss, in which they had every right to do btw. But were completely silent until the loss in Atlanta, in which case the offense and Richt didn't lose that game for georgia.
I agree he has had a lot of talent, a title should be here. I'm not saying I want to keep Richt or saying I want him fired. I'm merely waiting to see what he can do with a schedule that is harder than the past 2 have been. If he can't win it this year he will never win it again I agree with you.

The point I am trying to make is how people will always find a way to hate on him. I get it, people want him gone and I understand why. What I don't get it how someone can't give credit were credit is due, once again not directed towards you just in general. You can still want him fired for whatever reason and give him credit for coaching a good game.

Just remember, it takes quite a lot to develop that hate in which you describe.

The biggest issue that engulfs us all is the lack of consistency. Pair that up with Richt's history at UGA and he is extremely inconsistent. UGA as a program is the biggest roller coaster for any fan base out there. One minute, we are destined for the NCG, next we are barely beating a high school scrub team by half (cough cough Buffalo). The ups and downs of this team is what is getting me light headed.

We, here, have pointed out many errors that have been repeated over the years. Simple errors that any decent coach should have fixed by now. But no, we walk into a stadium and start pulling uncalled for and badly timed fouls, only to hold us back. We bite ourselves in the foot more than any team out there (though Florida gets that award this week ).

With the roller coaster mentioned, it seems that a lot like to enjoy that ride and take the ups and ignore the downs. The praising of Richt for FINALLY beating Spurrier (which the past 3 years says a lot about Spurrier and his coaching abilities) seems very short sighted to me. It's hard to praise the man who has been sending me into drunken fits over the last years, all over one game. The man just has yet to regain any respect out of me after what he has done to me, and this team.

I will give praise when praise is due. I'd love a season of very minimal rookie mistakes. I'd love a season where we made it to the SECCG, not because USC and Florida flopped, but because we deserved to be there. While I am not as demanding of him like the NCG folks on here, if I see a respectable year leading up to a chance for the NCG, I'll easily praise Richt over what he was able to do. Not just over one game, but to show that he could hold a team together and last a season, united, as a team should be, then yes, I'll give the man his praise.
