UGA will never win a NC under Mark Richt

It is the nature of the big boy job he has. This is not middle school football where everyone gets a hug and a trophy. We should be able to expect him to coach a good game every single time for the millions he gets. Why would you have such low expectations? He should not get a gold star for coaching a good game once in a while.

You can expect him to go undefeated every single season, but it would be foolish. Nick saban can't even do it. And speaking of him, he is the only coach I would replace Richt with at this point, bc believe it or not Richt has done just about the same as everyone else in the SEC except win a title. Like I said I understand you don't like Richt but it sounds like your expectations of a coach are too high.

Say we fire Richt, go hire Smart. How would we know he can do what Richt can't? Bc he's been a successful defensive coordinator with nick saban by his side? Derek Dooley coached with saban and look where Tennessee is now.

I don't want Richt to stay bc of his Christian beliefs, even though I do appreciate his beliefs. I don't want him gone simply bc I do not want to be the next Tennessee, so if you can pull a few strings and get saban to come to Athens then I'm all for it.

I expect competence and too often the team has demonstrated a lack of that. The Bowden coaching tree is full of fail. I do not expect undefeated every year. I do expect discipline and being well prepared.

My guess is Smart knows the Saban system well. Dooley took a crap job after the Kiffin fiasco. No one was winning there. And Tennessee is tilting on the edge of irrelevance if the current coach is not successful because they have little homegrown talent.

Georgia is a top 5 highschool talent state. UGA will not be Tennessee. What UGA will be is mired in the top of mediocrity with periodic flashes of pretty good.

I still would like your thoughts on the coaching of Saturday KD

Dooley was an unproven head coach, he was hired in a crap situation, but he turned out to be a crap coach. He got recruits, he had time, he could not turn the program around.

Smart is an unproven coach, would be hired in a better situation for sure, but what can we say? He's a good defensive coordinator but what about offense? Can he get the same recruits as he gets with nick at his side? No one knows.

I've seen one bad season under Richt, I've seen A LOT of average seasons, and a few good seasons. But lets be honest with ourselves, no one is going to constantly have great seasons unless you are currently sitting in the head coaches office at Alabama.

I agree with you on a lot KD I really do, I agree that Richt has underperformed numerous times, but I have also seen improvements he has made through out the years, I have also seen a lot of the same problems we point out every year as well. But I have seen more problems addressed in the past two seasons than have ever been addressed before.

Go back two years ago when we lose to Boise we lose to SC. This year, Richt had the men on that field focused and ready to play.

KD you may be right at the end of the season. Time tells all..

That is his JOB. He is paid a lot of money to coach to the best of his ability and to WIN.
