Buc, You know me and how I feel about those who have a passion for what they do.

CMR and his staff have a passion about their job and the players who play for them.

I well remember the look on CNS face all during the SECG and that Bama knows what is taking place on Athens

Pass two years were not a fluke. As you have said a couple of bounces of the ball and who knows.

What I am sure of is Bama wants no part of Russ and company in 2013

Damn if it's not great to be a Dawg

yd1, what separates the very good from the good is exactly what Nick Saban did.

Did nothing that most or some leaders would do when looking at a very good opponent. Went to his strength. Put the game on the backs of those that he had been around and trusted.

Will always believe that he (Saban) did not know just how good the opponent was. (Georgia) Happiest man in the stadium was Saban, whether he wanted to show that or not. Saban knew that UGA could score, he did not believe that our backs or back could run on his defense. Easy to overlook a quarterback that has "fire in his belly". Maybe we go at it again.

The University or Georgia football team knew that they were on an even keel. One thing missing, playing against Alabama was not the same as playing against LSU.

Guess that is what I continue to post about . . . . I call it catching up. Whether coaching or player talent, we are improving. yd1 believe that this group in Athens understands some of the "boundaries" that separate us. When I use the word "group" that encompasses coaching and players.

In my way of thinking, we have not had that "totally" under the Richt administration. That is not a slant . . . . that is what I believe to be the truth. All we have to do is look at the "before" and the "after".

It is a natural thing for "all of us" to "surround" ourselves with folks that we trust, going a bit further, thinking that we have the "right" people.

Could talk for hours, will not. Mark Richt has figured this "college" coaching thingy out. That also is not a slant. I have been all over MR's backside. Difference is this . . . . this University of Georgia supporter has seen some of the necessary changes from the top. That would be Richt and McGarity. Will always believe that Mac made it clear that we had to move "forward".

If there is anyone on this board or others that read this board, don't have an opinion after the arrival of McGarity, both pro and con, what the heck do you know about the money maker. Yep, football. Has anything changed since Mac arrived? Getting questions answered on this board prior to football season, can be a hurdle too high to jump. Truth.

Looking at the new members listed above, don't see a single post since all have been allowed into this site. Guess most wait for football season to start and explain wins and losses along the lines of . . . . ?

Buc, others ?

College football is now a 7/24/365 sport. No time off you snooz you lose period

Rain has slowed a bit of what is going on this weekend(Dawg Night) but may have proved a good thing as more one on one time with coaches and recruits to get to know each other while inside.

Picked up a tid bit from a local that CTG is cranked, wants results and not excuses. Play each play and win it,no slacking off

I see we beat each other up during camp, Our D will practice against an elite SEC "O" and grown up much like our "O" did last year.

Been said the shoe is on the other foot. Time we hit Anderson we will be ready to thump on Clemson. Book It

One thing that I, same as you yd1, keep an eye on the S&C section of our football team. Always glad to see someone get a deserved raise as was the case in the link below. What JTII and his group are doing is just as important as learning the play book. Have to be strong and improve speed and agility if you want to play in the SEC. With Sherman Armstrong - Associate Director of Strength and Conditioning, speed and agility is possible. Here is hoping that we keep this young man, he definitely has a future either with us or others.

Really think it is to our benefit to keep this particular group of coaches together, meaning the entire staff. Stability can win games and prepare these young pups for the future, whether football or "the real world". :)

Below is another article on Keith Marshall and his possibilities this season. For my money, Marshall was outstanding last season, and he was playing hurt.

Takes me back to the JTII/Sherman Armstrong chatter. In the article below it talks about Marshall getting stronger and improved footwork.

Buc, I agree that we need to keep our coaching staff together as long as possible.

I have spoke about Father Joe many times here. He knows his trade and add the fact he has been around UGA football since 1982 he knows Georgia football as well as anyone/ The man is a major player in our success. Good move on raises for him and his staff.

Don't mean for this to be negative yd1. Took the current leaders a while to recognize JTII and his many positilities. When the players speak out as they have done with the exception of one case (IC), something is going right. IC was just too damn lazy to hold any portion of UGA football above HIMSELF.

Sometimes when posting I refer to the fact that I see changes in Athens. This is another change that was made (JTII) becoming the leader that he is. Really like it when Mark Richt stood his ground with IC on the issue of JTII. Guess that was the reason for IC to show his butt on the sideline with Richt, pp'd that he did not get his way in the S&C.

What a blessing Marshall and Gurley have been to this point. Apparently both are coming back this year with added muscle and health. Defensive folks around the league would just as soon not hear that coming out of Athens.

Really like the comments coming from Todd Grantham. Not one usually to give out too much information, but he has loosened up a bit, and I think it helps the overall program. Grantham is strung pretty tight, in his case think that it works.

Looking over what has happened under Grantham, believe the overall defense has raised itself to another level, appears it was as Grantham said when first coming on board. Sees a bright future for Georgia and he also said or someone said it would be a three year plan. Not too far off in my opinion. Maybe I am wearing the "glasses" but I see more depth and potential top notch SEC players on our defense right now than I have EVER SEEN.

When I look at the overall defense and the incoming players, makes this old man get excited. Same coaching staff. Each year those not leaving for the NFL or graduating come back a year stronger with Grantham's schemes.

What's not to like about Georgia football? Beats days gone by, and those are "recent days gone by".
