From Athens- Best Summer Camp was created by yankeedawg1
Good Morning All,

Our local fish wrapper had a story this week about how this year’s summer work outs were the best in recent memory.

The article also stated that this was a yearly claim but what made this year’s claim different and truthful was the number players who have taken part in the drills.

Several of the veterans spoke out that this year’s turnout has been the best since they have been on campus.

Players our onetime for drills and working by themselves in the weight room will pay dividends for our season.

IMO the players have heard that they better shown up for camp in football shape. A very good thing.

I have the feeling that this year’s team is wearing a darker shade of a blue collar and has a firm grip that nothing but hard work will be accepted if you are looking for playing time. Love it!

Looking forward to getting fall camp started.

Pause and give thanks

Have a great weekend and a safe week

As always “Go Dawgs”

yankeedawg1, do believe that there is competition at several positions. Showing up for summer practices might be the deciding factor when it comes to playing time.

Don't want to say too much at this point. Hoping that we don't have any more of the incidents that made a lot of us cringe recently.

Getting close to show time (Clemson). Time for those that want to play on Saturdays to believe that hard work pays off. Just quoting what you said above yd1.

Realize that most have seen this, maybe more than once. Could not resist. This 2013 group will play their butts off, can't ask for more.

Those of you on campus tonight, this is Georgia football. Take a good look at the campus, everything in Athens is real.

Go Dawgs . . . . Big Friday night in Athens.

Takes me to this . . . .

Know that most of you do not have the off time that I find myself with these days. Still do some things related to Georgia football, but now I can "pick and choose".

Looking around, remembering times past, came up with the video below. Football game brings back many memories of young men that "gave it up for the University of Georgia".

Been around long enough to see many changes in Athens. Took me a while to settle in with Mark Richt. Liked the fact that Mark Richt accepted the Head Coaching position at Georgia. Being one of those long lost souls . . . . (Buc), had watched Richt operate in Tallahassee. He was masterful, he however had not run a "total operation" . . . . meaning a SEC Football Operation, basically from the top. Any way that I look at that . . . . "better have yourself ready for what is to follow".

Young man (Mark Richt). . . . "wet behind the ears" . . . . almost backed out at the last minute (true) then "rolled the dice".

Mark Richt is not a "proud man" in the sense of the words. Mark Richt is a very dedicated man that puts "both feet" forward when he believes in a direction or principle. Long story short. Have said this a couple of times . . . . did not like Mark Richt being humble, especially when it came to Urban Meyer and the end zone crap that followed, Mark Richt apologizing. That was what every media person did as long as Meyer was the coach at Florida. Mark Richt grew from that. My opinion.

Talked long enough . . . . Don't watch this video if you think UGA has no chance against Clemson. Georgia went to Clemson and said simply . . . . time to play . . . . I will not sell this group of defensive football players short. Neither will you and you and you . . . . :woohoo:
