Have read in a couple of different places that UGA is planning on speeding up play calling this season. Usually that talk is referenced to Malzahn and AU.

Maybe some don't know this, probably some do. Mark Richt while the offensive coordinator at FSU is the man that came up with the type of speed calls that Malzahn has used both in high school and college.

Officials stopped Mark Richt in his efforts to play "speed football". Claiming they (the officials) could not get in place quickly enough to give the defense a fair opportunity to line up. Pretty amazing when one thinks about the small number of officials that cannot get in place, however the other 22 players on the field can.

What I am trying to say is Gus Malzahn is light years behind Mark Richt when playing "speed ball".

Appears to me that this offensive team can "speed" play calling up, one reason for that is the experience the offensive side brings to the table in 2013.

Another reason . . . . more than once, many times as a matter of fact, Mike Bobo and Mark Richt have said that AM knows "their" game backwards and forwards. AM also reads defensive alignments better than any quarterback in the SEC in my opinion.

Ever wonder if the large group that remained in Athens over the summer break have been practicing some "speed football"? If we do speed it up, sure as heck changes the way defenses around the SEC will face off with Georgia. Just another tool coming out of the shed.

Mark Richt started this in 1991 at FSU. Officials made him "slow" the "speed" game down. Fact. Reasoning . . . . not fair to the defense as mentioned above. Times change. :)

This could also be the reason that we are going to substitute liberally on defense. Wilson knows that he has to have some air in the lungs of his defensive front because the offense will probably get close to 90-100 plays called and ran. Not too far from that now.

Just a thought folks. Find out soon enough. :)

One more thing. Welcome back Kolton Houston. Emmert got his head out of his behind . . . . JTII had a conversation with the NCAA president. Maybe JTII threatened Emmert with a headlock . . . . joking of course.

JTII and S&C was mentioned in post #10 in this thread.

I've been trolling on this site for years. Buc, I love your honesty and I have enjoyed reading your posts over the years!

I've been a Dawg fan since a fellow by the name of Hershel Walker caught my eye at the ripe young age of 8 (when I was 8). I have NEVER been so excited to be a fan as I am right now! The Tide has changed in the SEC... GO DAWGS!

Watching ESPNU this afternoon, Commissioner Slive caught me off guard.

Slive fired another shot over the bow of the NCAA, and Emmert. Soon we will see Mickey and Minnie along with the SEC and probably others that will remove themselves from the NCAA. Not that far down the road.

Don't know if kentdaddy reads this board anymore, he however was the first one to call Emmert and the NCAA's hand on this board. He was 100% right to raise a ruckus about Emmert.

Now we see what? Emmert talks with JTII and Kolton Houston can return. Also going to get his righteous butt kicked again in the Miami affair. Amazing what a "little bit of power" can do to a feller . . . .

Anyone on the board have a clue as to the remaining picks we have, and who our coaches will select or try to get? Personal thoughts, not what the media has to say. Any crossed fingers for a particular player that will enter the 2014 Class? I make that statement because being here for the length of time that I have, there are differing thoughts about our team. Rightly so.

Just thought I would ask . . . . :)

sflanagan21, thank you for the "high five".

What a great way to break into Georgia football, age 8 and Herschel Walker carrying the load.

Agree totally that it is a very good time to be a part of the Red and Black. So much has changed in my opinion when we look at the UCF thingy sometime back. That was in my mind sflanagan21, when I started commenting about the changes that have occured since that Memphis mistake. We were at that point a "mess".

Truly believe the "hot seat talk" at that point opened some eyes. Stopped the "next of kin" type of "stuff" that was going on in Athens. Said before, we all grow at a different "speed". Damn, back to the "speed thingy" again.

Again sflanagan21, thank you for the kind words, you can however see when my name is called . . . . I get rather loooong. :) Come often, be a part. Small group, very informed, all Brothers to me. :)

We have come a long ways since the "UCF thingy" and I honestly believe that CMR, CMB and CTG have all hit their coaching stride! And the veterans and new kids coming into the program get it and want to be a part of what's about to go down! I've said this at least 100 times in the past year, "UGA is the new Alabama". I firmly believe that...

Thanks for the warm welcome Buc! Like I said, I've been trolling on this site for years and the knowledge that y'all bring is outstanding! Glad to finally be a part of the brotherhood and I look forward to chatting with fellow Dawg fans!

Oh and btw, I grew up in a Bama house! My parents are die hard, season pass holders at Alabama. I grew up in Carrollton, Ga and my loyalty was for my state and UGA or maybe I just rebelled at a young age. For the past 12 years I have lived in Mammoth Lakes, Ca and I've converted three Trojan fans to UGA fans! GO DAWGS!
