So true wlayton. What mystifies me is that Mike Thornton has taken over the nose spot. Makes me wonder why he got such a low number of snaps in 2012 and is now in line to be our starter.

Ain't sour grapes, it was time for Garner's ass to move on. His comfort zone disappeared when Todd Grantham arrived. Fact.

I am going to believe that Chris Wilson will be a solid contributor as a coach and recruiter in Athens until he proves differently.

ogredawg, this might be one of the problems that has been answered. Paragraph from the link you posted.

Rodney Garner, who left before the bowl game to return to his alma mater Auburn, coached the defensive line where Mike Thornton played 19 total snaps until the regular season finale against Georgia Tech and defensive end Ray Drew averaged less than five snaps a game in the first nine games of the season.

Yep Buc that is why I posted it up. Seems the talent was there last year and was under utilized. It proves what has been said on this board more than once, that CTG was told to "lay off" Garner and his DL players, again another boneheaded thing that was done by CMR. Gives good reason as to why our rush defense lacked big time and people are saying we were 5 yards away from a NC is just not really true. We were a rushing defense away from a NC.
