Can't be in total disagreement with you ogredawg. Watched the game from start to finish, not sure that I am disappointed with the overall game plan.
Main thing that I can say is this . . . . depth means so much to a football team. When the rest of the SEC was sleeping, the "Master" was building his empire. Like him or hate him, he and his football team are playing in Miami.
Sure wish that the football had not been caught in Atlanta. Fact of the matter it was. Don't really remember a lot of coaches prior to Richt getting this close.
VD spent a lot of time in Athens, had not a later coach that he appointed spent his time recruiting Walker, makes some of us folks wonder what VD's overall record would have been.
Many on this board don't know a lot about football in Athens without VD at the helm and what happened afterward. VD did not want Erk to succeed him, damn good reason why. All anyone has to do is see what Erk accomplished after getting the cold shoulder from VD and moving to Statesboro.
Facts are simply facts.
Have a simple question to anyone that posts here. Anyone think that Erk would have done more in Athens than every coach that VD appointed prior to Mark Richt?
I can go on for days and a thousand posts if anyone wants to jump in. Just be damn sure you know Georgia Football. Easy to say what could be or should be, but when we let that get in the way of "clear" thoughts, then . . . . . it is time for discussion.
