Personally I think they jumped the gun on Dooley I would of at least given him another year. I also think that's driving some potential coaches away, if they can't get some time to get everything they want implemented then why come?
Expectations are high up there and anyone coming in is going to be expected to turn it
around quickly. It's college so the entire class rotates every 4 years, so having a
5 year plan to turn things around isn't going to fly with anyone. I'm not sure it's a
time thing, but something definitely going on up in Kaaaa-knocks-ville.

Fans have to be very careful about how they handle these situations. I think about our university. If I was a big time coach, why would I take the job at UGA? I would be thinking, man they have one of the winningest coaches of all time, and the guy is always getting ripped by some outlet. 11-2 season following a 10-4 season, and the fan base is still divided. Something wrong with that picture to me. Just saying.

Lot of decent people up here but just about every ut fan has unrealistic expectations. This is my problem. I don't think fans realize the impact they can make on a program. Constant bashing, and not showing up is not a way to prove a point. That was there stance up here. Quit going to the games, bashing was constant, always heard why this year was going to be the year they won it all, etc. Ran their program right into the ground.

I grew up in Tucson and Mike couldn't get it done in Arizona. Not sure Mark can get it done at Kentucky. This is the SEC after all.
As for the UT job. I don't really think Dooley got a fair shake. UT needs more than 3 years to fix the mess out there. I'm beginning to think nobody wants the job because the expectations are impossible.
Malzahn at Auburn is intriguing. No Cam Newton this time around. Seems to me the spread offense is to dependent on an athletic freak of a QB to be consistently good. I guess we will see.

Agree that Dooley didn't get a fair shake....actually think he may be a pretty decent coach.
Also think Malzahn is a pretty good coach....imo, AU wouldn't have won the NC without him.

If you were a big time coach, and satisfied with not winning championships (conference or national) no matter how good your record was, and were worried that some internet meanies might hurt your feelings by vocally expressing the desire for championships, I probably wouldn't want you coaching here anyway. Just curious why you see a need to point out how bad UGA's fan base is on a regular basis, since personally I don't see the fan base as being anywhere near divided.
