See that is the assumption that you are making that is bogus. Who ever said anyone would be satisfied without winning a conference or national championship? That was never said by me, and I am sure the coaching staff isn't satisfied. That point is well...pointless cause any competitor wants to win a championship, but to constantly have to answer to critics because I didn't do that. Yeah it would piss me off.

This goes much deeper than internet meanies. The media plays to what will get the most interest. There is a reason they keep harping on CMR everytime adversity hits. Fans/readers pay there bills. They are only going to write about things their fanbase agrees with. It pays there bills. Fans start it, the media grabs ahold of it, and it blows up. Seen it happen directly in front of my eyes.

Still doesn't answer the question, if I was a coach making 1-2 million dollars a year, why would I even consider it with the way CMR is treated by the media=fan base. Think it doesn't make a difference all you have to do is look at ut. As much as it hurts, they were a pretty elite program. Now, they are one more bad hire away from being to the point of no return.

If someone is making 1-2 mill a year, and the primary job duty is to win championships, and the people paying his salary voice their concern, that is not "getting ripped" as you put it--that is an evaluation of his job performance. I'm not saying anyone is satisfied not winning, but if they don't win championships, but keep pointing out they've got a pretty good W-L record, then some of the fans paying his salary have a right to voice their displeasure, just as other fans paying his salary have a right to support him. Constantly telling the side you don't agree with that they shouldn't be allowed to say how they feel is where you and are in disagreement.
While posters over the years have told you why they disagree with your support of the coaches, I don't recall a great deal of them telling you that you shouldn't post your support, yet you seem to always tell posters who "rip" the coaches they shouldn't be posting it.
And news flash, any coach in a big time program that doesn't win the championship is going to hear it from some percentage of the fan base and media. That is not restricted to Athens.

I agree with a lot of that. Fans do have the right to state whatever they want. I don't remember ever saying to anyone that they shouldn't say how the feel. I don't remember telling anyone to shutup, not voice their opinion, or so forth. I will state against it no doubt.

Fans have always had those rights. My point was to state that fans should be very careful. Having displeasure with a call, or calls is one thing. Calling for a man's job and stating he will never do this so we might as well move on, etc... is another thing.

Do you know how the percentage of head coaches coaching right now that have won a NC? Looks like 119 teams this year should not be satisfied with this years football season.

And to me, there is a problem when right after a great football game, in which all parties involved played and coached their asses off, the first thing that is posted is the displeasure with one decision. Forget about the kids and coaches that just played their hearts out. Lets focus on one decision that I disagree with. That is and always will be sad to me.

I guess we just won't see eye to eye on this. I have no desire to argue the semantics of some of your posts. True, you may never have directly told anyone to shut up or whatever, but I think most folks can gather from some posts that you have made over the years imply that they shouldn't post their displeasure. Maybe I just misinterpreted them.

Pretty much have kept quiet but have been reading here as usual. I think what stands out is the record that has been acheived against ranked teams. What is it like 2-12 over the last several years. That is not good. Yes a great game was played against the Tide and we were competing for the chance at a NC which I am happy about. But 1 good season and 1 almost win against 1 of the best teams in College Football does not make me change my non support of CMR or Bobo. Now if we do this again for the next few years I may start drinking the kool aid again. Me I am not convinced like some here that this staff has changed for the better. Been let down to many times by this staff.

I still think that this staff makes boneheaded decisions. Case in point is sitting Keith Marshall against Bama. Who made that decision?

I don't know if it's all quite that simple..

yes there are 119 schools, but you can go right ahead and lop off about 70 of them.

They do not have the money or the facilities to attract the athletes necessary to
win a NC. There are really not that many programs out there that really have any
legit shot at a NC.

The thing about demanding a NC here at UGA is the fact that looking at our conference,
looking at out university, looking at our facilities, looking at our money... We are
without a doubt a very top tier college football program. We're not University of Connecticut wondering why we haven't won a NC.

I do agree though regarding NC's from this angle... first of all, the NC is tough.. a lot of things you have no control over have to go your way including the results of other teams in other conferences. I have always had the philosophy it should be our goal to win SEC championships and then let the NC thing play itself out however it plays out.

Last years team and this years team did really well. We should all be happy the direction we are going.. I am. One thing to remember though is if all seasons were 10-4, 11-2 type
stuff.... I don't think many people would be being negative.

What caused the negativity was the embarrassment of 2009 and 2010, and how out of control our team seemed at the time. Let's be honest... it was out of control. Team was bad... Fans had to just about lynch Willie Martinez in order to get Richt to consider maybe
he was over-matched. Team discipline was shot... we were losing to UCF. All of that was
tough to swallow.

If we could go back and erase 2009 and 2010 off the books, very few people would have
been complaining about 2011 and or 2012. Plus we can all go back to prior to 2009 and
we keep seeing a team that was so close to getting over the hump... but just seemed
to always find a way to fall just a hair or two short.

God Bless and Go Dawgs
