thriller you make some very good points in your post.

Have always made my decisions on the way "I see things", not the way I am encouraged to see things and come up with solutions based on what others think.

My opinion is that I saw changes in the way Georgia played football this season. Did not say a lot about it last year, but there were some indications changes were being made. Can also say that I saw what I thought was an immediate change in Georgia Football the day that Todd Grantham came on board.

Todd Grantham actually warned us his first year in Athens. Said his system would take time and he would have to get the pieces in the right place.

An example of that was Alec Ogletree. AO thought he was going to the pros as a defensive back. Grantham had a sit down with #9 and convinced him that he should move to linebacker. How did that turn out? Now #9 has greater options and will make more money for his time spent listening to his coach, CTG, about a position move. Sorry folks, #9 (in my opinion) was the best linebacker playing for the Red and Black in 2012. Did not say that he was the best in leadership, but hard nosed football, #9 was outstanding. My hope for him is that he screws his head on properly, makes the right investments and when the time comes for him to give up football, he and his family will be well heeled.

averagedawg posted today, and I am in agreement with a comment that he made. Mike Bobo (this year) did not play second fiddle to Todd Grantham. Bobo had many parts, but not all of the parts needed, same as when Grantham came to Athens. Bobo changed "some" of his play calling and it got better deeper into the season. I don't for a minute think that I saw a 50% or more change in the play calling. My observation.

The offensive line had time and games under their belts to "learn" how to play SEC football. Many on this board, and two of the board members with longevity here said point blank that the offensive line would be a challenge at best. Those two would be ogredawg and wlayton. I said that before they did. Both started with defensive backfield, but changed according to the posts that I read.

Right out of the gate we were hit between the eyes by South Carolina, we found out fast that our offensive line needed time to develop. 99% of us on this board were ready to throw in the towel, know that I had almost as much of a problem with losing that game as I had with the recent game in Atlanta. ALMOST.

Kudos to Will Friend, another recent hire to Athens. He stayed on their butts, having to figure out some of the same things that both Bobo and Grantham had to do with their troops. The line play that I saw in the Alabama game gave this old fart much to look forward to. I actually saw the offensive line give AM time to throw the football against a very good defense. Some say Alabama's defense this year is not as good as last seasons. I agree with that, but the defense that I saw is better than 99% of the other defenses I have watched this season across the country.

Will be interesting to see posts and opinions on this board and others when we move into next season. Did I see any changes in Athens this season, damn sure did and appreciate much of what I did see. Changes that I think I saw are listed above, there are more, but that is a start.

Did not mention Mark Richt blowing up, good on Mark Richt. That for damn sure was a change in Athens.

As an after thought, beat the gators back to back. Can remember a lot of posts about UGA not having a chance against Florida. Think that could be listed as a change.

Buc, great post but a "huh"(?) about ogredawg and myself? Believe we were concerned about DB's because of first 4 game suspensions. Concern about OL for most of all year. Enjoyed the post.....not understanding the ogredawg and wlayton point.

AD5.....I'm more worried about our secondary than the OL as well......and THAT scares me even more because I'm very worried about the OL..... at least for the 1st half of the year.

Zero room for injuries in both areas. Heard they may consider Harton at DB but man is he small.

There is another post, however it is getting past my bedtime, will locate it tomorrow.

Did not mean any harm, I spend a lot of time going over past posts and threads. Amazing how much all of us change in the period of a year or two. Comes down to the same thing, all of us want our team to be the best.

We did, and if we remain consistent and sustain it... negativity will die down as much as possible when referring to a subject where we are all so passionate.

Go out and beat Nebraska and most of us will look forward.

Go out there and screw up that game and many will look backward.

So I see it as a simple equation... keep moving in a positive

Regarding the subject of negativity... I'm not concerned about fans voicing their opinion. There are a lot more things going on in Tennessee than negative fans. We've got a qualified AD; no decisions are going to be made based on what we say if he's worth his salt.

It happens everywhere... fans demand certain levels of performance based on how they see their capabilities. I mean let 'Bama go 7 years without winning the SEC and having a subpar record against ranked opponents, and their fans will have burned the Capital to the ground before they even had a chance to be get back on the right track. This is the SEC... we're passionate and opinionated about it.

Plus from what I see.. we never seemed to have boycotted games or withheld money from the program. I don't think we've ever got anywhere near running our program into the ground. Fans can impact the program, but I don't think that
we're anywhere near doing that.

Go Dawgs

God Bless and Go Dawgs
