Um . . . 'Bama won the conference championship in 1999. After that, they didn't win the conference, and in fact made no noise at all, until 2009. The capital still stands . . . but I have to admit, it's in predominantly Abuurn territory.

Edit: [BTW - let's fire Richt, send him to Tennessee, and hope he does the same thing there that he did here: mires their program in MEDIOCRITY! YEAH!]

Folks all I am trying to say is, I think that the football program is growing. By that I mean getting better. Could call it baby steps, even that beats crawling and for a while there, not sure we were even crawling.

Not going to argue with folks about whether or not we have to do this or that to be considered a top notch football program. If I don't like what I see, can look the other way. However that will never happen. I am hooked on Georgia Football, have been for several years. Had many ups and downs over those years, but here I am in the twi-light of my time and I am just as passionate as I was in the 1950's.

How could I not be hooked on Georgia Football, my high school coach was a player on the 1946 UGA team. Uncle was with UGA for many, many years, Dr. Bill Brown. To many of my kin to mention attended Georgia.

I do, as I have said before, reserve the right to express my opinions and I do. I have some of the same traits that duck has, very passionate.

Say it again, Georgia Football might not be all it can be at this point, it would however be foolish for me to say everything concerning football in Athens is in a downward spiral. Just not so. Couple or three years back, far as I was concerned, fire the whole damn bunch. Three years later, don't have those same feelings. Don't want to lose board friends because of that, but if that happens, I am a big boy, have taken care of myself and others for quite a spell.

Said in an earlier post that I hope we play many of our young pups. While Nebraska got their tails handed to them in their last game, one can bet with all of the hoopla about the SEC these days, Nebraska will come to play. Playing against a team that stood tall against Alabama, they will be motivated to kick butt. What better time to let the pups find out what real football is all about.

Just rambling again . . . .Go Dawgs. :)

Yeah well that's not literal, bit did you see what the 'Bama fans were talking about during that down time? I did.. got
friends there. The complaining done here about Richt pales by comparison.

My point... we're not UT, and I'm not worried about out fans passion in what we say.

Understand that Wart, but I would also be willing to bet ut did not think they would be in the situation that are in now either. Had some tough years against the vols under the Fulmer era. I never thought they would be what they are now. I am enjoying it now because I took a lot of hell during those years. However, nothing would be worth going through what these people are.

I'm still not worried about it at this point and I'm not going to
seek to preemptively stop a problem that I don't think is on the horizon.

UT's real problems began with the hiring of LK. Had they made a better decision then, their program wouldn't be where
it's at. I don't think we're anywhere near firing our HC, much less by default having his replacement last 1 year before bolting back to his home and leaving the program in disarray.

It's just apples and oranges to me. We are no where near anything remotely like that.
