Apologies from a Richt apologist

TN Dawg, much like you, I agree that Mullen is a very good coach. The beginning of Urban Meyer's fall from grace at Florida was when Mullen left to coach Miss State. Meyer up until that point was getting all of the credit, and he is certainly one to take all of the credit he can gather.

Not opposed to Mullen either. He seems to have Miss State on the same path that Spurrier took when he went to South Carolina. Appears that way to me. Mullen is fiesty.

No worries Getdown11. I am with you. I backed up Mark Richt until this past season. Richt has kept our program at a decent level but not a great level. I watch our guys and it reminds me of a car that is stuck in 2nd gear. Bama, LSU, AU and FL keep reloading but UGA just idles in second gear. Its too bad as we have such a storied program. As a fan, I have two choices. I can either be satisfied with a program that yields 7 wins or more year after year or I can demand more. I choose the later. Our fanbase deserves a coach who demands results not Gomer Pyle who is happy with, "oh gee" and "by golly".

To be a successful coach, you have to have a certain attitude. Look at Saban and as much as I hate to admit it, look at Spurrier. Do you think the players at Bama and SC are buddies with their head coach? No. Hell no! They respect and fear their head coaches.

The thing I find most distressing about our program is the absolute lack of intensity. I have never seen such a group of athletes with such a lackadaisical attitude. Its embarrassing. I wish I thought differently but I expect a blow out against UF.... and UF will be the team that blows us out. Might be a good thing in the long run as it will be another nail in Richt's coffin.

Enough already.

Amen bpatters69, you said it all, this group of players has no heart, no fire, seems to lack the will to even want to play. Like you, I see no way this team will even stay on the field with Fla. Maybe they will have to cancel due to the hurricane. I think everyone hopes that with the D being called soft, that they will have a great game, don't see them playing any different that the other 6 games. Fla will pick up 10 to 15 years right up the middle on 1st down on the first play of the game, and this will set the tempo for the rest of the afternoon. (48-3) Fla. We get embarrased again, and old CMR will just say the same old BS, pick ourself up and correct mistakes ect ect.

One thing I know is gruden isnt going to leave his MNF gig lol. He has it way to good. UF went down when mullen left, UT went down then back up when cutcliffe came and went to ole miss then back. and Fla state went to the dump when CMR left and has yet to return. KS has never been a HC not saying he wouldnt be good but we all know CNS has the final say on everything. He controls alabama. there is CNS and SS and then the rest. Just need a good OC and DC I wont say CMR should stay or go Im just saying IMO right or wrong he will stay as long as he wants too, unless he dose not beat tech the next 2 yrs. TN thought getting rid of fulmer was the answer when all they needed was Cutcliffe. look where they are now. Ark and AUB are now sorry also. tubberville is having a laugh Im sure. All Au had was cam. CMR downfall is he is too nice, cares too much for his players and coaches, He has the smarts, He hasnt forgot how to coach, he has coached many champions and H trophy winners. He just needs a tough no non sense OC and a cut throat DC that dosent mind doing what ever it takes to put someone down. GOOO DAWGSSS!!! DO whatever it takes to win!!!

You may be right OldSouthDawg about Richt, but when CTG got to Georgia he had a lot of fire in him on the sideline. However lately he's so mellow-out since that first year, why? I don't know, it's been said here and other websites that Richt had something to do with that. Is that good or bad I don’t know. All I know CTG was more charismatic when he got here to now this year???
