Apologies from a Richt apologist

Maybe the thing is that so much time is spent getting recruits here and then its over, but thats not the way it should happen, that process has to continue, you have to keep selling what you sold until the day they graduate. If you do that you cant go wrong as far as your responsibility, like it or not it is never ending, thats why you get the big bucks.

A recruiter of what? Players that are guaranteed to lay an egg every time they are on a
big stage? Players that will go on to NFL stardom but underachieve while they are here?

What good has all of our recruiting done for us?

Wartdawg, I would take you back to another post you made recently in the discussion about Rambo.

Which points directly at COACHING.

Not in disagreement with you, actually agreeing with much of your assessment. Do I think we would miss Richt's recruiting efforts . . . . might. It would be short lived at the outside. Much of that situation would depend on who replaces Richt.

If Richt was to be asked to leave UGA, I am one that thinks he will move on, but not to where most think. I think he would take another coaching job, and there would be many offers from D1 universities. Sometimes it is best for all involved to take a second look at what we want and what surrounds us.

I don't hate Richt, but I don't want him as Head Coach at UGA. Eleven years is long enough in this conference to show your wares. Once again Mark Richt has stumbled . . . . I am ready for change, and I will say again, that falls squarely into McGarity's lap.

Getdown 11,
I think there are a lot more here (me included) that wanted to believe that great things were on the horizon. I hurts to realize that our leader has no answers and all promises were only smoke and mirrors.

Richt did a great job to get UGA back on track. Unfortunately, that train has run its course and is now off the track.

As always .... Go Dawgs!

I presented the "who do you hire" question to my friend/contact etc. While he does like KS (although had some small reservations but not sure what), he has always liked Gruden. I don't know how I feel about him as a COACH but he's definitely a tough, no nonsense, hard nosed guy with that "win at all costs" attitude etc.

Thought I would post what my friend said but mainly the stats he listed.....blew my mind!!!

Yeah. I do.(like Gruden) I think he’s a good coach. Maybe not great, but good. More importantly, I think he would be dominant in recruiting, and that’s one of the biggest factors in college football. If we could dominate the state of Georgia in recruiting, we’d be in the national title hunt every year. Instead, we lose guys to Bama, Auburn, FSU, Tennessee, UF, South Carolina, and Clemson every year. This is the best recruiting year in Georgia of all time, and we’ve only got 1 of the top 10 that is coming to Georgia. There have been years in the past where we got 8 or so of the top 10. This year, these are the Georgia members of the Rivals 250:

#1. Robert Nkemdiche Clemson
#2. Reuben Foster Auburn
#4. Carl Lawson Auburn
#16. Montravius Adams Auburn Lean
#76 Demarcus Robinson Clemson
#80 Trey Johnson Auburn
#98 Tray Matthews Georgia
#111 Isaac Rochell Notre Dame
#117 Anthony Jennings LSU
#123 Johnathon McCrary Vandy
#129 Johnny O’Neal Georgia
#140 Brandon Kublanow Georgia
#144 Kelsey Griffin Undecided
#149 Tyren Jones Alabama
#155 Shamire Devine GA Tech
#157 Alvin Kamara Undecided
#171 Vonn Bell Undecided
#208 Tyshon Dye Clemson
#222 Brice Ramsey Georgia
#244 Jeremi Hall GA Tech
#250 Brendan Langley South Carolina

Does that sound like we’re dominating the state to you?
