Ok. So I have been a Richt apologist for some time. I've even been quiet here for a while because of the negativity.
Now however....I will say that I apologize. I am wrong and everyone that has called out Richt in the past is dead right. I was hoping that I would see something this past Saturday that would validate my sunshine pumping. Needless to say the rose colored glasses I was wearing are now broken because I got punched in the face by reality.
I don't really know what else to say that hasn't already been said. All I know is that my buddies (all alumni) and I get together every Saturday to watch the game. We were all apprehensive about this one and when the Dawgs were punched in the nose to the tune of 21-0 after 6 minutes in the first quarter instead of us all getting pissed we all looked at each other and knew the game was over. It's as if we expected it.
I can't defend Richt anymore. I can't talk x's and o's anymore because it doesn't matter. We will beat who we are supposed to beat and if our opponent is ranked in the top 25 we will lose. The "Collapse in Columbia" didn't just expose the team but the entire program. I now have to come to grips with the fact that we are not nationally relevant. The worst part is that I didn't want to believe it but really knew it all along.
