Always a stressful week for me.
I fully expect Dooley to pull out all the stops. Emotional motivation.
My biggest worry is how we come out in the first half, need for early domination.
On paper this should be an easy win.
I hate the Vols. Hopefully Barbara Dooley has a horrible weekend.
Spending the week in the mtns, first frost of the year this morning.
Go Dawgs!!!!!!!!

averagedawg you are spot on with DD pulling out all of the stops. Would surprise me if they try and run on us. Know that getting Cordarelle Patterson was a must for Tennessee. Made sense for him to transfer to UT, get more chances to catch the football. End arounds, reverses, pigskin in the air, should not be able to gain much ground running at our front.

Seems that the "hot seat" talk is now surrounding DD at Tennessee. VD is of course supporting his son, that however does not matter to the Tennessee crowd. Loss to Florida did not help the current coaching staffs efforts to remain in Knoxville. A loss this weekend to Georgia will almost seal the deal on looking for another coach. Not much to look forward to on their schedule. There will be a lot of noise coming from the UT bunch about UGA's weak schedule. Sorry, but we demanded that we get the likes of Tennessee on our schedule to have an easy go of it in 2012. :)

My hope is that we do not let anything interfere with our efforts to put points on the board and keep points off of the board. One has only to go back to 2006 and check the point totals. All is fair in love and war. We need to as averagedawg said, jump on them quick . . . . if the tables were turned, we can only guess what the UT bunch would do to us.

As you stated in your first post Buc, that 2006 game is still embedded in my head like rebar in concrete. I don' think I've ever been so pissed off. Hell, I'm still pissed about it!

My biggest fear is the Dawgs get complacent in this game thinking about the chickens next w/e. Focus and finish the drill. My advice to entire coaching staff and the entire team is to hit hard and fast right out of the gate and don't let up until the clock reaches 00 in the 4th qtr. If they do that, Dawgs win by 20+.

My next concern in this game is showing CSS all of the cards. And feel so far, CMR and company hasn't shown all of the cards at this point. Let there be no doubt, CSS has been looking at videos for 4 weeks now and will be looking at videos from this game hours upon hours for 6 whole days. I hope the Dawgs get ahead early so the cards can be put back in the deck while not letting up on the pounding.

Keep sharp and healthy Dawgs.

The UGA/UT 2006 game takes me back a ways, don't know that I have ever completely healed from a UGA team that "gave up" and not sure we that the wound opened that day has fully recovered.

From where I sit . . . . would love to see a repeat of the Vandy game this past Saturday. Not talking about score, scores can be deceiving, and often are. We have more talent, enough experience and if AM shows himself to be what I watched against Vandy, we are the better team. AM showed the same kind of leadership against Vanderbilt that he did on the high school level at Plant.

I don't believe that Tyler Bray comes close to being the "leader" that AM is. Grantham's players are going to make Bray's Saturday in Athens a game to remember. Bray is throw first, run (not him) maybe. Bray standing 6'6" wants to be a NFL quarterback, and I also believe he is a "me first" player. Have watched several of his games and I flat out do not see a "team leader".

Supposedly the Volunteers offensive line was rated superior to our offensive line in the eyes of the "Xperts" prior to the opening games in the SEC 2012. Watching the two offensive lines will be worth the price of admission between the Hedges. Sure liked the "scrubs" ;) on the offensive line for UGA and the way they played against that other Tennessee team.

We don't need to have any home losses this season, no losses at all would be great, but if we are to lose, hope it is not between the Hedges.

Go Dawgs . . . . Will Friend, believe you are coaching'em up!:)

I'm okay with their line being rated better by the EX-spurts. They may be a bit better, but
come game time it boils down to rating them a bit differently. I'll take the match up of our O-line against their D-line over their O-line against our D-line any day of the week.

Agree with you about Bray. To me he comes across as a stats guy.. he's going to have nice stats, but he may not have the equivalent W-L record. Not a leader I say as well.

Frustrate him early CTG, and Bray will implode as the game goes deeper.

God Bless and Go Dawgs

Amen... Lordy how I have missed a consistent running game.

The passing game is very exciting to watch, but I'll take a team that can jack up
200+ running yards a game any and every day of the week. You can throw the ball all you want but NOTHING can take away an opponents desire to keep going better than pounding the
rock at them for 4 quarters at 6-7 yards a clip.

It's the boxing equivalent of the heavy body punch, and it breaks their will.
