The UGA/UT 2006 game takes me back a ways, don't know that I have ever completely healed from a UGA team that "gave up" and not sure we that the wound opened that day has fully recovered.

From where I sit . . . . would love to see a repeat of the Vandy game this past Saturday. Not talking about score, scores can be deceiving, and often are. We have more talent, enough experience and if AM shows himself to be what I watched against Vandy, we are the better team. AM showed the same kind of leadership against Vanderbilt that he did on the high school level at Plant.

I don't believe that Tyler Bray comes close to being the "leader" that AM is. Grantham's players are going to make Bray's Saturday in Athens a game to remember. Bray is throw first, run (not him) maybe. Bray standing 6'6" wants to be a NFL quarterback, and I also believe he is a "me first" player. Have watched several of his games and I flat out do not see a "team leader".

Supposedly the Volunteers offensive line was rated superior to our offensive line in the eyes of the "Xperts" prior to the opening games in the SEC 2012. Watching the two offensive lines will be worth the price of admission between the Hedges. Sure liked the "scrubs" ;) on the offensive line for UGA and the way they played against that other Tennessee team.

We don't need to have any home losses this season, no losses at all would be great, but if we are to lose, hope it is not between the Hedges.

Go Dawgs . . . . Will Friend, believe you are coaching'em up!:)

Good post Buc. I have never been a big believer in Bray either. Mainly for the reasons that you point out. Living in the out skirts of Knoxville, you hear all the rumors and garbage. Just based on what I have seen from the kid, couldn't agree more. He is worried about one thing and one thing early, getting paid. However, he does have a big arm, and being a realist, he has some serious WR talent.

Those WR scare me a little. Patterson and Hunter are studs. The strength of their offense appears to be the weakest link of our defense at this point. Hoping the cb's will be better with Rambo coming back because Commings can move back down to corner. MM has to step up big this game. I like the way Smith plays, but he is undersized and seems to struggle against bigger WR.

Keys to me are this. Continue to establish the running game, and keep the balance the offense has. ut is very weak on the back end, and they lost their best DB against uf. If we can continue to establish the run and take care of the football, our Dawgs should have another 40+ game.

On Defense, ut has a better than average passing game. However, it seems they are focused on trying to be able to run the football. Make sure the running game never gets started. Must attack Bray early and often. He struggles with pressure, and doesn't like being hit. If he does get time, he is a really good passer of the football. Hit him early and hard, willing to bet he completes a few to our Dawgs.

This ut is a team hoping they are good enough to play with our Dawgs. They are trying to convince themselves that they have the horses to compete with the big boys again. We MUST avoid a slow start because if they feel like they are in the game, and have a chance early, they will play a much better game. If our Dawgs come out flyiing with intensity and discipline, should be over early. They have some very talented players, but nowhere near the TEAM.

Sound ST and holding on to the football, I like our DAWGS by 17.

Focus on this week now DAWGS, they all count.

GO DAWGS

For sure you and I are on the same page again . . . . getting scary . . . :)

Can't recall which game it was that I watched Bray come off of the field sulking about a coaching decision. What Bray and IC did amounted to the same thing . . . all about me.

AllDawgs5, my curosity is way up for this game. Ogletree and Rambo coming back, wondering if they start. Think you know where I could go with that thought. Know that Grantham is a show me coach, which I appreciate to the fullest. Grantham is the man that had the chat with #9 about changing positions, and all of us know how that turned out. Todd Grantham plays the game to win.

Like your numbers on the game, also like the following paragraph I copied from your post.

Any offensive line that has the running backs that we have are going to take their game up another level. Always has been that way in the trenches, high school, college or pro. AD5 you are so right about holding on to the football, we do that, there won't be a lot of smiling faces in the Knoxville area.

Really good post, thanks . . . :)

Shut down the 2 big receivers and the passing game we win big. We fail to do that we win in a close one in a shoot out.

FWIW, the people who make their living by wagering correctly on ball games have installed UGA as a 14 point pick this week.

I think you have to start them both Buc. Rambo/Williams ,Commings/Smith with Mitchell in nickle situations, Ogletree roaming the middle to cut off the slant and short passes gives #29 more freedom to do what he does best..........make Brays life miserable so he has no time to find those 2 big receivers....
