Wart, what did you say you would be happy with this year? How many wins? Did you think we were going to win the NC? Just remember it seemed almost all agreed they would accept 9-10 wins.

Nope.. never said or thought we were going to win the NC.

Never put a specific win total requirement on the team. I hardly ever do. I just want
them to come out and play competitively in every game, and not lose games because of
stupidity or lack of effort. If they do that and 10 is the best they can do, then I'm
happy. If they could have done better than 10, and didn't.. then I have an issue.

I'm not the one basing everything on win totals. You seem content because we reached
a number of wins that made you happy, so it seems you are the one that bases your opinion
on win totals alone. That's what I've heard over and over. You've ignored a ton of specific
issues and just keep talking about reaching 10 wins.

Me... I don't care... I just want to know why we don't even attempt to move the
ball a little closer when our crappy kicker is less than 50% from outside of 40
yards (not to mention why crappy kicker is even still the one we are using), or how we don't find a way to incorporate one of our best weapons and get him the ball. I just want to know why our 2 most discombobulated offensive performances came in the 2 games when our OC had the longest amount of time to prepare. I just want to know why we haven't had an O-line in 4 years, and STILL people are talking about how it may be an issue yet again next season.

.

wartdawg......AM briefly answered your question why OC didn't get the ball. Check back on the video Buc posted.

Buc, agreed. Ben Jones is a huge loss. Been reading a bunch of great things about Andrews though. In all honesty,I am not overly concerned about the O Line. I believe CWF will find a group that can get the job done. He will have plenty of numbers to work with. I have confidence in him.

I critized the O line early, but thought they really did alright this year. I was not pleased with the RB's. This is probably my biggest fear for next year. We have to find a back that can break an arm tackle in the line scrimmage for a big gain. Holes arent always going to be open or where they are supposed to be. Saw glimpses from KM the last game of vision and power. Keep pushing Malcomb.

And kicking game. Probably even bigger than the RB situation. Scary. Marshall kid has plenty of leg.

Lot of truth in that statement TN Dawg. Many are suggesting that 2012 is the year. Not sold on that completely. Much has to be done on the offensive side.

Only way AM's feet don't dance is for the front to stabilize. What little I know about football, when you lose your center, that to me is like losing a quarterback. Not only losing a strong football player that started for four years, losing leadership. Leadership is hard to come by when we are talking about 18-21 year olds.

I compare a center in football to a catcher in baseball, have to look around and be sure everyone has their act together. :)

I too am not sold on 2012 being the year. Offensive line is losing Jones, offensive line play caller, and Glenn, starting LT. Two big cogs in O line. The center in my mind is just as important as the middle linebacker on defense. Figgins will be gone. We may be ok there. But we have no established RB. Big concern in my book.

I think I would stop recruiting there and take my chances elsewhere.

Sigh.. so now everyone is saying they don't think 2012 will be the year... 2011 wasn't..

2010 and 2009 weren't either.. That's an entire class cycle. 2007 we might have had the
best team in the nation at the end of the year, but of course we found some way early
in the year to play ourselves out of a chance to prove it.

That was the recent pinnacle there... that 11-2 team from 2007. So we went from that,
and now before 2012 starts many of us (rightly, and fairly so) are already thinking
"well wait until 2013!". I mean that's what we're saying when we start thinking 2012
isn't going to be the year either, isn't it?

So exactly how many years since 2007 is it going to be before we're going to really
think we may have a legit shot to win the SEC or something more..?

Let's imagine Richt left after 2007 to become a full time missionary. How many of you
would have been happy with a new coach if he came in to his first presser in the year 2008 and announced that he thought by 2013 we may be a SEC champion caliber team and possibly be in the picture for the NC?

Think about it... from 2007 we went downhill, and now we're hoping and praying for 2012
to be pretty good, but we're still not ready to be overly optimistic because we see
real problems on our O-line and no proven RB... what would you have thought if we got
a new coach in 2008 and he promised you a 5-6 year plan coming off of that 2007
season.

*shakes head*

God Bless and Go Dawgs
