The coaches don't have to make excuses to me this year. I will take 10-4 after a 6-7 year and a 0-2 start. Not going to let one game totally ruin the season. If I were going too, it would have been the BSU game. That game was very frustrating, very poor job by CMR and staff. Other than that, I saw a team that bought in, and was playing their guts out for the most part. Whoever's lead they were following, they were giving their all. Proud of them.

I have never been one to mark a season as a success only by NC's. W-L's do matter though. Yeah, we have an easy SEC schedule, but I would take a ACC, Big 12, or Big 10 schedule over the one we have. Still have, usc, uf, aub, and a vandy team that is improving. GT is always going to be a tough game. They are a good football team. Johnson does a good job.

I hope for 11-12 wins, but I want to see the Dawgs ready for a fight against all opponents. No more lapses like I saw against BSU.

I don't mark the success by NC's either. Never have.

My goals every season are to beat UF, beat Tech, and win the SEC. Do that and I'll be happy
to let the NC chips fall where they may.

If anyone wants to take 10-4, a blowout loss in the SEC champ game and losing to the B10 runner up... more power to them.

I do understand it did follow a 6-7 year, and that is improvement... but I don't exactly
like using 2010 as any benchmark with which to judge UGA football teams.

From where we ended last year, I am going to take it. No satisfied, but saw a lot of positives. We lost 4 games. Now looking back at those losses, only one that just totally gets under my skin and that was the first one. Willing to bet, all of our losses came to teams ranked in the top 10. Maybe MSU won't make it quite there, so it would be 3 of our 4 losses came against teams in the Top 10.

Should have won 2 of the 4. Can argue it was coaching, play-calling, whatever? Lost both by 3 with stupid turnovers contributing, and missed FG's.

Wart, what did you say you would be happy with this year? How many wins? Did you think we were going to win the NC? Just remember it seemed almost all agreed they would accept 9-10 wins.

Ok yes there was improvement, we won 10 games instead of 6, our D got better, but hey, we still lost to USC for the 2nd time in a row. We lost to the then no 5 team badly, we lost to the no 1 team badly, and we lost again to the no 16 or 12 depending on which poll you look at in MSU. We had some outstanding play from our receivers, and D other than that we were pretty much going backwards. Our ST were lousey as well as our big OL in my opinion. We beat a bunch of nobodys, and now we are projected a top ten team, can't beat a top 20 team, but go figure.

I am with you Duck, there is definitely room for much improvement. Lots of room. But, I did see a lot of improvement. Would also like to note that we also had a record setting QB.

Another thought I had, if we had cleaned the staff out and started over, would 10 wins have been accepted for a new HC?

That's an interesting twist and a great point.

Ok, can't believe I'm the only one asking but sure others were wondering......AD5, where did you play ball, what positions etc and didn't you coach for a while too? Always interested in other's accomplishments and achievements......

Boykin said until this teams learns how to finish and beat someone when they have got them down they will never win the BIG games I agree...
