Buc it is great to have someone like you, ogredawg, averagedawg and some others with so much knowledge on what is going on at UGA. I really enjoy coming to the site and being able to find out things before they ever make the media. It is a true blessing that we have so many posters that can inform us on the good and bad. It seems lately that the good is out weighting the bad, so hopefully we are back on the right path and we all will be able to enjoy UGA football as we become the feared team we once was.

duck, makes me happy that you are back in the swing of things. You have always stuck by your posts. Some come up and say one thing and first thing you know, they flip. The folks you mention above are as Red and Black as one can be. Go Dawgs, beat that bunch in Columbia next season. Know that will put a smile on your face duck . . . . . and mine. :)

Yes sir, it would put a big old smile on my face, and to top that, would not hurt my feelings for us to start another 5 or 6 games win strick against the old ball coach and the chickens. I think if we beat them 2 or 3 years in a row, I believe the old ball coach would retire.

If interested, here's what my source just updated me on the prospects.

"I’ve heard that it’s between us and UF for JHC, and many think he might be favoring us. Our chances probably aren’t as good with Jenkins. Probably going to Bama. They offered Mike Davis within the past few days. He’s a big running back from Stephenson near Atlanta. (5’10”, 200 lbs) He would be a nice compliment to Marshall. He had been a long-time UF commit, but something happened and he de-committed. He won’t say what happened, but he says that he won’t be going there. It’s wide open for him between a lot of schools- Oklahoma, Miami, Tennessee, FSU, UGA, South Carolina, UNC, Tennessee, etc. We were late to offer him originally, but Richt and Garner are on him now. His brother, James Davis, was a good running back at Clemson a few years back, but I don’t think he’s really considering Clemson. Not sure that they offered him."

A thought or two about the recruiting of Mike Davis and others. Young man is definitely a very good back, hard nosed, strong, and likes the game of football. This young man is going to be a really good college back. Of course a lot of that depends on the offensive line and . . . . Coach.

From where I sit, I love this time of the year when some of the better football players go down to the wire with their decisions. Not so much the “look at me” players, the pups that take their time and figure out what is really best for them, their families and in some cases . . . . The university.

I like the fact that Keith Marshall did not put on a huge show, as has been the case with some. Not much is being said these days about KM, not long ago the boards were lit up wondering and wishing. Good on the recruiting coaches for bringing such a fine young man to UGA. Keith, you are more than welcome in Athens, and even down here in Florida, you are appreciated just as much. Here is hoping that your friend from North Carolina finds his way here also.

Many of these young men watch where others throw their hats into the ring. All of these guys want to play football the minute the first snap in conference play starts. Understandable, these pups have been the best in their high schools and area of play. Hard to step on campus where there are many that were and are coming from the same background that you are and feel the same way. That is a good thing, not only for the University of Georgia, good for character building if taken that way. There is always someone better, the older we get the more we understand that.

Back to Mike Davis. If I were a betting man, really believe he will sign on with Spurrier and South Carolina. Good program and many think that Spurrier only throws the ball. He is closer to 50/50 run/pass than probably 90% of the coaches in football today. Duck just a gut feeling. Buc is rambling again.

Throwing that out, thinking some of you might have some input on the subject of recruiting. Time of the year when many start doing other things and wait until next season to participate.

Take some time and put some thoughts on the board. Any player that you want to discuss. Said a couple of times that there are going to be some surprises heading our way in recruiting. Some of you folks are much closer to what is going on than those of us down this way. Know a lot about the Florida football players that we have a chance to sign, or would like to sign.

Go Dawgs, Michigan State is coming to Tampa, Raymond James Stadium for a serious football game against UGA. The Seniors on their team want to beat UGA . . . SEC real bad. Hope that Richt and company are serious about this game, the Spartans are. No more field goal games . . . . Please.

Coach’em up, put smiles on our faces.

P.S. Really like the fact that Friend took Mark Beard’s name off of the waiting to commit list. You go coach.
